1: All things grow better with love.
2: Dear PaPaw, I feel so blessed to have you as my grandfather and that my children are blessed with such a wonderful great-grandfather! I have many fond memories of spending time with you and MaMaw at your home and at the camp. Going on boat rides with you on the river was so much fun! You have taught me about love, honor, and the value of hard work. I'm thankful that our family was able to live next door to you for several years and create even more memories. I hope you know how much we love you! Love, Amy, Coult, Natalie, Lily & Joshua
5: PaPaw, We would like to tell you how much we truly love you and appreciate everything you do for our family. I remember going up to the camp with you and all the fun times we had there. I like going to your house in the cold, because there is always a fire going. I also love how devoted you are to church and Jesus Christ. You are such an example to us all. Thank you most of all...for being you. Happy 85th! Love, The Vasquez Family

11: Pa Paw, You are one of the most amazing men I know. I feel so blessed to have you as a grandfather. I have very fond memories of visiting you at you and Ma Maw’s house in Beaumont. I loved playing in the backyard and “helping” you work in your garden. I am so glad that you and Ma Maw moved out to Nome so that we could all spend even more time with you. I have always enjoyed hearing you tell stories of your youth and your years in the Navy. Whenever I speak of you with friends, I always do so with great pride. You will forever be a great example to me of what it means to work hard in all aspects of life. I truly admire your devotion and faith in Jesus Christ and to your family. I am honored to be your granddaughter. Thank you so much for all that you have taught me and for being just the kind of grandpa a Texas girl needs. We love you! Rachael and Jordan
14: Pawpaw, Its hard to sum up all the influence you have had in my life in one short paragraph. I want to thank you for always being there. You taught me to be strong and to work hard for the things I want in life. I know you were so hard on us as children because you wanted us to grow up to be strong men and it has touched my life in so many ways, I feel like it has helped to shape me into the man I am today. Now, thanks to your help I am ready to start a family of my own and I will try to be as good of a man as you have taught me to be and hopefully one day will be as good of a man as you are. I am so glad that we have been able to strengthen our bond in the past few years. I feel very blessed to have a wonderful grandfather like you in my life and I will always remember the lessons you have taught me and will pass those things onto my own children. Happy Birthday Pawpaw, I love you!

17: Papaw I want you to know how much I love you. You have always been a great grandfather to me. You taught me how to mow the fields (though I never learned how you could do in a day what took me 5). Your hard work always impresses me. It doesn't even matter if you are sick or hurt, you keep working along. Thank you for being such a great inspiration to me. Love Steven
21: Papaw, We are blessed to have you as our grandfather. I am thankful for the opportunity that I have had to grow up living so close to you and to also live right next door to you for the past 2 years. You are truly an example of someone who cares about those around them. I love watching you play with my children, I know they love you so much. I remember going to the fun Honey Island Reunions with both you and MaMaw. You know the fried chicken was my favorite part of it every year, well that and making fun of all the old people with MaMaw. She always said y’all were the young ones there and everyone else there was old. Thank you for all of the fun memories that you have shared with my family and I. We love you! Love, Aaron, Laurie, Landon, and Olivia
46: PaPaw, We would like to let you know how much we love and admire you. You have always been there for our family in good times and in bad. After the tornado, you got out there and did what needed to be done. | You have mowed the fields time and again, and kept the yards mowed. You have kept the boys in line, while letting the girls get away with most anything. You are the first to volunteer at church doing what needs to be done, putting all others before you. You have held 3children, 8grand- children, 8great grand- children, and we look forward to you holding many more. You live life to the fullest and make the most of each moment. Our lives continue to be better because of you.
47: We love you!!
