FC: Constantine Family Album | January-June 2008

1: Sophie and Joe turn 11! Sophie took her friends bowling, while Joe chose to have a party at home. | January 2008

4: After bowling, we headed home for roller blading and cake. Guests were: Karlee Cornford, Elizabeth Sausedo, Daxton Castellanos, Hannah Watson, and Kate Hopwood.

5: This is the moment when Joe has already turned 11 and Sophie is still 10. We almost forgot to take the picture this year, but Sarah rushed to the park with Joe where Sophie was playing and took it.

12: February 2008 | Jen and Sarah head to Colorado to visit the Davies

13: Annabelle had so much fun with Sarah!

14: We drove all over the place--this was Grand Mesa.

16: We took walks from their house--it was cold but beautiful weather. It was great to be able to walk some hills right from their front door.

18: More fun inside! Cooper was just a baby.

19: That is Jackson in the pretend oven...and Jackson sleeping in various places! | Cooper slept a lot, too.

22: On the way up to Glenwood Springs, we saw this coal mining operation.

23: And on the way home, we stopped at the quaint little town of Redstone.

24: The cold never seemed to bother the kids.

25: And Sarah never got tired of playing with them.

26: We went to the mall in Grand Junction before our flight home. Then we had lunch at the Bear Rock Cafe . It was a great trip!

28: Ping pong night with Susan and Rich, Mom and Dad, and Daniel. The Cornstantine kids and Kassidy.

29: Joe with yet another chess trophy!

30: Joe played on the NOR basketball team for Norris Elementary School. Rebekah Lopez was his coach. His teammates were Brandon Kabernagel, Caleb Kesler, Roman Uribe, James Lopez, Scott Bradley, Brandon Hoyt, Ian and Austin Moore. March 2008

35: We went to Santa Barbara for Cindy Moody's wedding to Jonathan Swanson. We rented the same house in Goleta that we had stayed in before.

48: Joe at the Western States Chess Tournament in Ventura. This was one of our favorite tournaments to attend. Here he is with Kathleen, Mitch Groves, and Levi Ormonde. Matt, Sarah and Sophie hang out.

49: Pat and Ed Reep at their home in Bakersfield.

50: Knights of the Round Table Lunch. Kyle Lemminn with Joe; James and Rebekah Lopez; Sophie, Matt and Karlee.

51: The cousins gather in our backyard: Jackson, Ali, Annabelle, Xavier, Joe, Daxton, Sophie, Sarah and Cooper.

53: We went to the LA Times Festival of Books at UCLA. | It was Sarah, Ali, Aunt Cris and me. | We listened to Maria Shriver talk--she was terrific! | And Henry Winkler was also terrific, talking about his Hank Zipzer autobiographical series.

54: Joe played for one season on Brigade.

55: During his Brigade season, Joe was a guest player for Liberty United at the Kern Crude Oil Tournament.

58: Sarah's Spring Select team, Chaos, played in Kern Crude as well. Coaches were Steve Shoemaker and Bradley Downing.

60: Norris Elementary Spring Concert Joe played the French Horn. Also pictured are Lizzie, Kyle, and Karlee.

61: Kamala Cabin moving in weekend. We had a great time, worked hard, and endured a power outage which meant no hot water!

62: It was really hard to just be moving in and have the power go after emptying the UHaul, some of us wanted to head for home. The kids protested (here they are "chained" to the bed), and made such a good argument that we agreed and stayed the weekend. We had a blast!

63: My dad, hamming it up as usual! | Dax, Sophie, Sarah and Ali snuggled up on the couch.

64: These are Sophie and Joe's state float projects for 5th grade. | Joe's state was Vermont Sophie chose Oregon.

66: Sophie was chosen to participate in the Bank of America Speech contest. Wendy made it to watch! | Lizzie was chosen from Olive Drive Elementary making them competitors. | Sophie's 5th grade teachers, Mrs. Rosander and Ms. Rodriguez came to watch. | Sophie did a great job with her speech on her hero, Great-Grandpa Ed.

67: Wendy was battling Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and we were spending lots of time with her.

68: History Day Sophie participated even though her district did not. She made a poster about the Battle of Monte Cassino, a famous battle during WWII. She won County and went on to State.

69: Sophie did an amazing job preparing and presenting her board. Pictured above right are Dan Peeler and John Hefner with my mom; Brittany Louey with Sophie on bottom left.

71: 5th grade awards assembly--last awards assembly for elementary school!

72: The 5th graders went to Wind Wolves Preserve on a field trip. Joe with James Lopez.

73: Last day of school!

74: SUMMER! June 2008

75: Neighborhood fun playing Capture the Flag.

77: Matt and Joe head to Casa Vieja for a weekend of fishing and camping.

80: Fishing on the Upper Kern in Kennedy Meadows.

83: Red Rock Canyon

85: June saw lots of swimming at our house. Xavier, Joe, Ali, Sarah, Dax and Sophie.

87: Caleb Kesler, Luke Singleton, Xavier with Kyle Lemminn, James Lopez and Luke.

88: Caleb and Brandon Hoyt. | Quite the basketball battle ensued.

89: Eventually the whole thing got pulled into the pool!

91: It was a very fun swimming party.

92: The afternoon ended with the boys on the Wii.

93: Another June day, another day of swimming, this time with the cousins. Jackson and Annabelle are on the raft. Below Sarah is holding Jackson.

95: Mitch brought his baby goat and it was a big hit. | Lars feeds the goat while Annabelle looks on.
