BC: U | Created: April, 2011

FC: TO: Ms. Alexander FROM: Ms. Petrakis | Best Friend Memories

To the most amazing person I will ever know. I will always love you with all my heart and cannot wait to continue our lifetime of amazing memories.

Dear Tammy, Our friendship has been on quite a journey. I'd like to take you on a trip down memory lane...

The first time I finally went out with you was to the corn maze. October 30, 2008 | This is where I learned you had a fear of chainsaws, and I desperately needed a haircut! | November 26, 2008 Not quite the first time I went out to dinner with you... | Yet we sure had a lot of good laughs that night :)

Everyone knows we met in the calculus lab... took a while for us to get acquainted (because I never said hi to you)... but our true friendship did not officially begin until you were finally able to get me to go out with you and your friends.

The week before your 22nd birthday, you asked me to go out with you, Stephanie, Bri, and Chris to some bar that I had never been to or heard of because I was extremely anti-social and boring. The pictures clearly show I chose not to go out with you that night... | November 26, 2008

Finally, on the night of your birthday, Chris convinced me to get my butt out to the Cactus Canyon. | I was the only sober college gal with you that night :)

December 4, 2008 | It wasn't the first time you tried to get me to go out with you, but boy am I glad I finally said yes :) That night was a blast!

Then, of course, there was the math party. An "end of the semester" celebration as I recall. Everyone was getting ready to student teach, with the exception of my BFF. Thank goodness you had one more semester at UNC, our friendship gained so much with the additional fall semester. Who knows what would have happened without it.

My first drink, our first toast, you asking me if I wanted anything else to drink about 50 times. Then, of course, there was the enjoyable moment of arm wrestling... even though you think I cheated :)

 December 6, 2008

You then invited me to see my first rodeo where I met Roberta and Robin :) December 31, 2008

January 29, 2009 I turned 21, had my first tequila shot, and experienced my first hang over in chemistry the next day. I remember walking into Diana's office the next morning. She laughed, gave me a hug, and called me cute :)

May 2, 2009 | I personally thought we gave Chris a pretty nice graduation party ;)

May 6, 2009 Our last Rio date with you as a student at UNC. You were about to embark on the road of student teaching.

Summer, 2009 Mountain Trip (6/18/2009) My tonsillectomy Our second rodeo together :)

July 22, 2009 Monte Vista Sand Dunes - Alligator Farm - Rodney Atkins! Without a doubt, the best trip I have ever taken. This was my first road trip, first snow cone, first parade, first time I had sand in my pants! We NEED to go back to the sand dunes :)

July 23, 2009 My first concert Rodney Atkins | The sexiest man alive :)

October 31, 2009 | You asked me to ride out to to the middle of nowhere to pick up a dog with you. The truck got pretty dirty because of the old roads :) Welcome to the wonderful life of Tammy-ville, Harley!

November 12, 2009 | Dinner with friends who had begun their teaching careers.

December 4, 2009 Your 23rd birthday I asked Roberta to tell you there was an angry former customer looking for you specifically. Naturally, it was just me waiting with a big stuffed bear to surprise you :)

My pookie bear's graduation day! December 12, 2009

Then there was graduation night... Where Chris made a big scene and you, me, and David had fun without him ;)

We went through a bit of a rough patch for a while. We both know the best cure through a rough time is to listen to a little Rodney. Perhaps even see some more Rodney and meet random people :) April 16, 2010

 May 10, 2010 | My big graduation day/night :)

 Summer Baseball, 2010

 Summer Bike Rides, 2010

"To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world." | "If you feel the need to jump off a bridge, I won't jump with you. I will be at the bottom to catch you." | "Everyone hears what you say. Friends listen to what you say. Best friends listen to what you don't say."

 August 8, 2010 Bandimere Speedway

Unfortunately, the races got rained out, but the day was still a ton of fun :) We found ways to keep ourselves entertained ;)

At the very end of summer, 2010, you had your surgery... | And in October, 2010, you invited me to a corn maze with your family. This past Halloween was so much fun with all the haunted houses we went to/attempted to go to :*)

Vanilla... ;) | Sunshine | Cuddle Bear | Diesel Dumplings | Schnukems... Try not to look too happy on your 24th birthday. | Love Bug :)

I cannot believe it has been 3 years. I feel like I have known you for 15. So much has happened and changed. I don't know if you remember, but around this time (April), back in 2008, we had our first real conversation and memory right outside the UC during the math contest banquet. You told me about your assignment on the gang student from Greeley Central High School; this was also the first time I had heard about Cory. The stories you told me that day are not usually things you tell any random person. I was intrigued by your life story, and I wanted to know more. The week after the banquet, you were working in the lab and I came in to work on stuff before class; this was when you told me about your date with Schuyler. How he drove around for hours trying to find a place to eat and he kept skipping every restaurant because the parking lots looked too full. I realized in a couple of days and very few conversations that you enjoyed my ability to listen; I did not necessarily need to say anything in response, but I was a good person for you to talk to because I was neutral, I did not know your life history, and I was not judgmental. Naturally, I became even more intrigued, and I wanted to know more; I wanted to hear more, I wanted to see you more often.

Our moments in the lab became an addiction and every day worked around the clock. I looked forward to getting out of a class or meeting and going to visit you in the lab because I knew you were working, and you would do the same with me. Our friendship quickly became extraordinarily mutual and we both constantly enjoyed the times we had together. My interest in country music did not begin until I met you; I wish I could remember the first song you played for me. As time moves forward, we now realize that those days are over. It's been three years since we first became friends and my spark of interest in you has never diminished. I look forward to every moment we have together, and I am excited to see what the future holds for our friendship. Love you lots honey bunny, Your favorite Cuddle Bear :) | Where we had our first conversation :)
