Dear Birth Parents My name is Tanya. I am grateful for the opportunity to write to you about my life, my home, and my hopes and dreams for a child. I am single and have never been married. I have yet to meet that forever person, but I am ready to start a family with a child. Adoption is offering me a chance to realize my dreams and to give a child a wonderful life and a bright future. I honor you for the courageous decision you have made to look at all the options for securing your child’s future. I live in a 3 bedroom cottage home in the South, my neighborhood is full of parks and bike trails. My home is within walking distance of a a park and a neighborhood swimming pool. I work for a bank, in the technical division, which allows me to work from home. All my teammates are fully supportive of my decision to adopt.
I have a large extended family who are eager for me to adopt. I am the oldest grandchild of 11. There are now 14 great grandchildren with more on the way. We have fun at holidays and throughout the year. Last year most of us camped in a national park to celebrate my mom’s birthday. I have friends who have adopted internationally. I have watched their dream come true as they now wait with me on mine. My mom and sister both are with me on this decision to pursue adoption as a means to add to our family. We talk weekly if not daily about it. They are as anxious as I am, as we wait. Now a little about myself. * I love to read, especially fantasy and science fiction. I truly look forward to passing my passion for reading on to a child. * I have 2 dogs (Australian Shepherds) who are great with kids, super gentle. They just love to play. I grew up with pets being part of the family and look forward to my child learning to love and care for their own pet one day. I grew up with: dogs, cats, horses, goats, ducks, rabbits, birds, a hamster and a raccoon.
 * In the past, I was an avid horseback rider (trails only) and hope to do so again in the future with a child at my side. * I am learning to quilt. * I am a firm believer in education and will see that your child will have the full benefit of a good education behind them as they face their future.

 Sister: Robin and Family
Words from my sister, Robin: I would like to explain to you about my sister. Tanya has been a wonderful aunt to my two children, Ashton (11) and Payton (6). She has always taken an extremely active part throughout their little lives. She has helped me tremendously with keeping and raising them over the last 11 years. I can honestly say that she devotes spending quality time with both of them. She keeps them both for me sometimes a week at a time, and at the end of the week they are never quite ready to come home. They love her with all their little hearts. I know without any doubt that she loves my children whole-heartedly without question. I would trust her with their lives. I would with great honor recommend her to become an adoptive parent. She is so wonderful and loving to my children, and I know that she would make an exceptional, kind, and caring mother.

Our extended family gets together at every major "family" holiday for food and fun. Depending on the season, there is either a football game on inside or one going on outside. At Easter, we host a big Easter Egg hunt that the children love.
I felt quite honored when our friend Tanya asked us to write an adoption recommendation letter for her. Tanya first came into our lives through David’s work and has become a friend to our whole family, including our 2 and half year old son Zach. Tanya was with our family during our ups and downs as we made the decision to adopt. She was a constant source of support for us as we made our way though our journey of meeting our son. She saw our struggles and triumphs as we became adoptive parents. I believe her being so close to us going though our journey, that she became keenly aware of the needs of all sides of the adoption process. Since we have been home with our son she has been very respectful and involved at the same time. | Words from Family Friends who have adopted:
She always asks appropriate questions regarding attachment and adjustment, understanding that these things are so important to families. Adoption is not a new idea for Tanya. As long as we have known her as friend – long before our journey even began to adopt our son – she has enthusiastically talked about adoption as a real option for her to have the family she is dreaming of. Tanya is very compassionate and loving toward children. Her desire to be a mother is rooted in her being and is a natural extension of who she is now. Our family is so excited to see her dream of being a mother of a child come true for her. Tanya’s work ethic also reflects her commitment to family. She is always a team player and works with people to make sure that family always comes first. This has earned her a lot of respect from colleges and others around her. She has the undisputed respect and support of co-workers as she endeavors in the adoption process. For these reasons, we would recommend Tanya as an adoptive parent without hesitation. Sincerely, David & Emily

My goal as a parent is to live by this simple creed: “If you raise your children to feel that they can accomplish any goal or task they decide upon, you will have succeeded as a parent and you will have given your children the greatest of all blessings.” By Brian Tracy
