BC: The End | A family is a unit composed not only of children but of men, women, an occasional animal, and the common cold. -Ogden Nash

FC: "Other things change us, be we start and end with family" -Anthony Brandt- | 2010

1: A Year in Review.... Wow it's 2010 already! I can't believe how time flies and that we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary this year. Reflecting back on the year and realizing what a blessed family we are! We got to enjoy a Florida vacation and celebrated our anniversary for a week in Punta Cana. Some other highlights were Alex turning 10 years old and Kelsey and Kaleb turning eight. Mike and Janice welcomed a little girl- Alia Rose and Mary and Steve welcomed Alana Eve to the family. We also went through the change of selling the place we all grew up in and mom and dad moved to a small cabin they built and Mary and Steve moved into Mark and Sharons home and Marks moved to Mt Hope with Sharons parents. The boys and I enjoyed playing baseball and softball another year, had some camping trips, swimming days, a trip to the zoo, went to Pokey and Joannas wedding, and I turned 30 years old!

2: Alex, I look at you my firstborn son, Filled with pride for all you've become. There you stand and getting so tall, Ten years of memories, we share them all. A mothers love so tender and pure, Will last forever, that's for sure. I nurtured you and held you tight, And soothed your cries into the night. From a tiny infant so meek and mild, To an innocent toddler, cheeky and mild. An now an inquisitive young man finding his way, With always another baseball game to play. You're inspiring, intelligent, and witty too, Easily excelling in all that you do. You're such a good son, and also big brother, You've always made me proud to be your mother. I was blessed the day God gave to me, My new born baby the first of three. Without a doubt, it's plain to see, What a wonderful son you are to me! I LOVE YOU -Mom

3: Kelsey and Kaleb, "It's twins!" the tech told me, giving me quite a fright. "Are you sure?!" I had asked, wondering if I'd heard right. But sure enough, there you were, up there on the screen. And I tried to make sense of what it all would mean. Double the feedings, double the tears, Double the changings and double the fears. Just how would I feed you both at the same time? And how would I choose who to hold if you're both crying? How much would you cost to our family? Diapers, food, college...just the idea was overwhelming. And how would I care for my other dear son, When I've only two arms with which to hold everyone? The future seemed scary or daunting at least. My mind raced with questions, my heart skipped some beats. But then I remembered that you were formed in love That you were two miracles, gifts sent from above. How could I be worried, what gave me the right? We would figure it out, what seemed dark would become light. And soon enough the time came, After nine long months Two bundles of joy were delivered to us at once. We counted your fingers, we counted your toes, They totaled forty on top and forty below. You were both the most perfect little angled we'd seen. And we couldn't believe just how blessed we'd been. Now eight years has flown by, where does the time go? It seems like yesterday we were bringing you home! You couldn't be more different even though you are twins. Though you both love to laugh and discover new things. You're both funny and sweet, you are happy and smiley. And we feel so lucky that you're part of our family. There is two to kiss and two to hug And best of all two to LOVE! I LOVE YOU -MOM

5: Mom and Dad I don't know when it started, oh how it all began. But God created families, as only our Lord can. He was teaching what it means, to Love, Honor, and Obey. He wanted a strong bond, that we don't see too much today. He wanted someone to hold us, And show respect for others. He wanted someone who'd be gentle, and so he made Mothers. He wanted someone strong, a support filled with love, And so he created fathers, sent from heaven up above. Brothers and sister came next, with that, and instant friend. Someone to look up to, someone on who to depend. When he put them all together, he was amazed at what he'd done. He had created a family, mother, father, daughter, son. But look at the family, created by only two, How many we've become, and all because of you. We have a lot to be thankful for, the memories through the years. The many times together, full of laughter, full of tears. I don't know where we'd be today, if it weren't for the two of you.
