S: The Adventures of Mugsy & Tre: Rockin' the 20's
BC: Happy 30th, Meg!
FC: The Adventures of Mugsy & Tre | Rockin the 20's
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above... James 1:17
We're an unlikely pair, you and I... but somehow the Lord thought it good to knit our hearts together. He threw us the garter, so to speak. And we have never been the same since.
The 20's were good to us... (go Cath!)
... mostly because we were inseparable. (Some would say "obsessed")
We moved in together at North Park Apartments. 3213 Rio Robles. | For fun, we hung Julie's underwear all over the place. | You also played the flute with your nose.
I got a job at Google. | You got a job at Fremont Christian.
We were wild & free in those days.
And we surfed a ton. Wind, rain, dead seals... honey badger don't care.
We were just plain fun. We did lots of fun stuff, like throwing stuff off a bridge, like going to a zoo...
...like going to Tahoe with the Warren's...
Like going on cruises with Cubans & yard dogs... Like taking roads trips to San Diego... Like being in the parade at Disneyland... Like taking honeymoon pictures in the snow... Like skinny dipping at Big Beach in Maui... Like going to Kirkwood and getting bursitis...
... and like making baby alpaca hair babies.
We were also pretty overweight in our 20's. | (That was a trick)
We liked to hang out with our friend J9.
We were never the same after our Kauai trip. Half-way through our 20's, we realized that even after doing everything "right," we didn't even truly love Him. So, we asked him to teach us how.
Did I mention how cool we were?
We had the time of our lives. And we began to learn of His love in a new and liberating way. This kind of love cannot be contained... and it's been making us free ever since.
The final trip before Tre got married was to good ol' SLO. Why? Because it fell within a 5 hour radius. Yay.
This marked the end of an era. You can't tell from the pictures, but we went through several boxes of kleenex.
 And then... I got married.
And that was real good, and real hard.
And you were left alone with your cat.
But don't think the fun stopped there. Ok, so we did spend the first year crying and holding each other in your recliner; but, eventually we accepted our new season with grace.
We found ways to occupy our time... | ... this was (is) very normal.
After I got married, we had a time of bubble blowing.
Then... I bought a house, got a dog, and started raising chickens.
And you were like, "where's the booze?"
Thankfully, you and the Nol got along quite well, as long as boxing & booze were involved.
In fact, we're all just one big happy family.
Correction. One big retarded, Hindu family.
By the way, this is what happened when we tried to take you out on dates. Take note: you need a special man.
We faced quite a few fears in our 20's.
His love is making us brave & free. There is no fear in love.
But our relationship isn't just fun and games. God has required of us as well. He has taught us volumes.
We continue to listen for His call... | ...we continue to invest in His kingdom.
The load got heavier but He was so good to us. We began to pray for godly fellowship, and the Lord heard our cry...
We topped off the 20's with a trip to Oahu. After over 5 years, we were together again in Hawaii. (Still technically within a 5 hour radius). | A little R&R... | A little surfing...
A little lime in the coconut... | A little kava... | And a lot of paradise. Para, para, paradise!
Heading into our 30's has brought with it some interesting developments. Honey badger found some honey.
Yah honey badger, get that honey...
Well my friend, we have come quite a distance over the last 10 years. It's been an honor and a blast to rock the 20's with you. Thank you Lord for that. But, these train tracks still have a lot of miles left in them, and this liberty bell still has a lot of ringing to do. And I have a feeling that the best years are still ahead of us. So, what do you say we put our big girl panties on and keep on rockin'? | Cheers to our 30's! Shalom to the dome!
