2: UNCW began as Wilmington College in 1947 with 238 students, many of whom were veterans returning from military service following World War II. Today, approximately 13,000 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students experience the universities unique blend of teaching, research and service learning opportunities, a mix of classical and innovative approaches that creates powerful learning experiences which give our graduates a competitive advantage in todays marketplace.
3: Coastal Carolina University is a dynamic, public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, just minutes from the resort area of Myrtle Beach, S.C. The University offers 55 areas of study toward the baccalaureate degree and seven master's degree programs in education, writing, coastal marine and wetland studies, and the MBA. Ten new undergraduate degree programs were recently added, including biochemistry, economics, graphic design, information systems, musical theater, theater arts, as well as criminology, health and aging, and social justice tracks in sociology. | Coastal Carolina

14: Oozeball Oozeball started in the early 1990s as a fun way for students to come together to relieve stress before final exams and has since become a long-standing Seahawk tradition. Funds raised through Oozeball registration fees help the Student Ambassadors serve UNCW with events like the campus-wide back to school Lemonade Brigade, community service work and other activities. In 2011, at the 18th annual oozeball mudslinging extravaganza 96 teams of 6-8 players – more than 600 students – will competed for the ultimate Oozeball title.
16: Nestled outside of Conway, South Carolina, The Hackler Course is the only university golf course on the Grand Strand. This par 72 golf course is operated by the University’s Professional Golf Management program. Our clubhouse has a fully stocked golf shop with officially licensed Chanticleer Apparel. The Hackler Course’s practice facility offers an all grass driving range, practice bunker, 3,000 square foot putting green, and a 3-hole short game area between 20-50 yards to warm you up before your round. We have an excellent tournament program, and specialize in golf outings, corporate outings and clinics. Advance reservations are recommended, but not always necessary. We would like to personally invite you to be our guest for the day. Once you experience the warm and courteous atmosphere our staff creates, you may never want to leave.
