27: Artist Statement | In this semester of the digital photography class I have learned a lot. I have seen much improvement in the quality of my photos. Before this class I was just a boy with a camera, there has been an incredible transformation to a photographer. Seen in this picture book is the zenith of my photos. There are twenty-five of the best photos using the techniques I have learned in this class. My photo series does not really have a theme; it is random, kind of like life. It is a hodgepodge of the best of the photos I have taken in this class. To have a good work it is not necessary to have a theme because life itself does not have a theme; life has many themes at many eras of life. In the beginning the motive to take the pictures was to complete the assignment. But I have found myself using the skills and taking pictures outside of class. Also I have found myself thinking about how something would or wouldn't make a good picture of how to set a picture up for success of find the perfect scene for a photo. Through this class I mostly used the Nikon D5000 but on occasion I used a Fujifilm camera and the Panasonic luminex. The photography sense came form mostly around the school and the surrounding town. Also in this class we learned how to use Photoshop. Since I mostly took the pictures during class a lot of them are taken around the school. The technique I used in the photos was realism; I prefer pictures to communicate what you would actually see if you were there in person. When I look at photos I want them to transport me in my mind to that scene of the photo.
