3: Handler's parents met at an Opera He sang Opera in the 80's, in the San Francisco Boy's Chorus

4: He enjoys playing the accordion. He said "It used to drive my parents crazy!" | His father fled Germany as a child

5: As a child, Handler was aware that bad things sometimes happened to children. | His favorite book as a child was The Bears Famous Invasion of Sicily. He convinced his Publisher to bring it back into print.

6: Live to Skate | He is married to Lisa Brown who is a graphic artist. | When he was younger, he hated happy books.

7: Handler was inspired by Edward Gorey | He often dedicates his books to Beatrice, a fictional character.

8: He is often portrayed as a character in his own books. He came up with the name Lemony Snicket when and agent asked who to send some documents to and he blurted out Lemony Snicket.
