FC: 2 0 1 3 | Disney Cruise Alaska

We met in Vancouver to board the Disney Wonder

We headed out of Vancouver Harbour and were on our way to the Alaskan inland passage

We sailed north up the coastline of Canada through beautiful channels and passageways.

Julia had planned the perfect anniversary getaway even to the dinner at Palo - Remember the Chocolate Souffle'?

After dinner we all returned to our cabins to find the first of a nightly parade of towel and washcloth animals provided by our cabin stewards.

We were officially welcomed aboard by Mickey, Minnie and Goofy | at breakfast in the Parrot Cay Restaurant

The Wonder took us into Tracy Arm Fjord to view the Sawyer Glacier. The approach was guarded by a small army of of seals.

There was one area that appeared to be the entry way to an Azure Palace. The luminescence of the glacial ice was peaceful . . . until...

A huge piece of glacier calved off the river of ice with a resounding thunder like clap. An iceberg had been born.

Everyone enjoyed our excursion into Tracy Arm Fjord. | Chip, Dale, and Minnie joined us on our exit.

The guardians of the glacier seemed to give us leave and bid us fair winds. But the beauty of Alaska was not done with us yet that day.

The Captain piloted the Wonder out of the fjord and through a chain of islets,

dotted with water falls and mist. | Then, around the next bend an awesome falls that nearly spilled aboard.

This falls kept us looking for quite awhile

 Skagway

Tim and Jackie went dog sledding on their excursion

Eddie & Lorraine took the White Pass & Yukon Route Railway excursion. The narrow gauge tracks laid in 1898 climb 2865 feet to the summit of White Pass and the Alaskan - Canadian boarder. A peaceful and historic trip.

Al and Julia took a boat past the glacier to Haines. There were Eagles both mature and adolescent. | Other wild fowl lived in and around the waters of Chilkoot Lake. Then it was on to our next port.

Junea | In Junea Eddie and Lorraine went whale and seal watching. Tim and Jackie were unable to take their glacier trip as planned so they hiked about the hills of the city

 Ketchikan

In Ketchikan we boarded a sea plane and flew out of town. Over the harbour, over the school, and over homesteads. Landing in a small bay.

There we found a she bear fishing the bay for salmon. There were dens and pathways used by the bears.

We flew back to Ketchikan and back to the Wonder. Our excursions were adventurous but the Wonder had surprises and fun for us yet.

In the lounges of the ship we played Trivia Games Movie Trivia - Music Trivia - Wonder Trivia Wheel of Fortune and...

 M A N I A | M I C K E Y

 The Golden Mickeys

The theatrical productions were ... well ... DISNEY! The first one of the cruise was The Golden Mickeys, a tribute to the great Disney Movies.

Disney Dreams An Enchanted Classic tells the story of Anne Marie, a little girl who just can't find it in her heart to believe. One night while trying to fall asleep, she is visited by the Blue Fairy, Peter Pan and someone else very special, who have a story to tell. Through the magic of Disney storytelling, singing and dancing starring some of your favorite Disney characters, they teach Anne Marie—and remind us all—the power of dreams and believing.

 The Art of Disney Wonder

On Every Deck - In Every Corridor - On Every Bulkhead

The Art of Disney Wonder was seen in the ship`s design, in the stateroom, in the creative artistry of the room stewards, in restaurant murals, in everything. It was almost like cruising in a museum. All this combined with music throughout the ship left us to discover yet one more art form.

The Art of | Disney Dining

 Triton' s

Our Dining Staff made every meal a memorable one. Not only with their outstanding service but with their individual personalities.

They made sure table 66 was always well served. With Julia's every radiant smile and | Boniface's tricks and charm, we were made to feel welcome and at home with each meal.

There was a Disney air all about the Wonder that kept us smiling.

The name "Wonder" more than fit our week long home at sea. It was the perfect way to see the inland passage of the Alaskan coast. With good friends, good food, good surroundings,it was more than a good time.

It was memories of a lifetime in the making. The beauty of Alaska combined with the luxury of Disney Cruise Lines. Still, all of this would not even exist if not for ...

Isaiah 2:3 And many peoples will certainly go and say: “Come, you people, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will instruct us about his ways, and we will walk in his paths.”

 Jehovah

Job 37:10 By the breath of God, the ice is produced, And the broad waters are frozen solid.

Isaiah 11:6,7 And the wolf will actually reside for a while with the male lamb, and with the kid the leopard itself will lie down, and the calf and the maned young lion and the well fed animal all together; and a mere little boy will be leader over them. And the cow and the bear themselves will feed; together their young ones will lie down. And even the lion will eat straw just like the bull.

The voyage ended as it began . . . with Magic and Wonder. The magic of good friends and the wonder of Jehovah's love, justice, wisdom and power manifested in all that we saw. The souvenirs that we brought home were memories. We may well not sail these waters together again but we have sailed them this time and that is something that will never change. Perhaps, however it has changed us.
