2: E.B. White wrote a total of four books and a lot of poems. | White served in the Army before he wen t to college.
3: White graduated from Cornell University in 1921. | While he was there he wrote for the Cornell Daily Sun.
4: When he was working for the newspaper at Cornell, people started calling him "Andy". | In 1957 his family moved from New York City to North Brooklin, Maine.

6: His Mother and Father's names were Jessie Hart and Samuel Tilly White.
7: After college White was offered a job at Minnesota University, but turned it down to become an author.
8: White grew up in Mt. Vernon, New York and attended public schools there.
9: The "E.B." in E.B. White stands for Elwyn Brooks.
10: White's most famous books were Charlotte's Web and Stuart Little.
11: He wrote a coloumn for Harper's Magazine from 1938-1943. In 1945 he began writing his own tales.
12: Worked for the New York magazine after working for the Seattle Times.
13: White had 2 brothers and 3 sisters. He has one son, and 3 grandchildren. He married Katherine Sergeant White.

15: Charlotte's Web On a sunny farm one day a baby pig was born.
16: Fern's dad wanted to kill it because it was so small. But Fern said, "No!"
17: Then when Wilbur, the little pig, is all grown up they take him to the state fair. That's where Charlotte, the spider, makes a magnificent web that says, "Humble".
