1: Born August , 1935 in Wabbaseka, Arkansas

2: Eldridge joined the Black Panther Party. They were described as "the greatest threat to internal society of the country."

3: April 6, 1968 Cleaver, Bobby Hutton and David Hilliard were ambushed by Cleavland Police. Cleaver and Hutton ran for cover and found themselves in a basement surrounded by police. Building was fired at and the men surrendered. Cleaver was wounded so Hutton went out first with hands up and was shot 12 times by police, killing him constantly. Cleaver was arrested and charged with murder because Fbi was ordered to cripple BPP members.

4: Eldridge Cleaver published his memoirs in 1968 calling it "Soul On Ice" which established him as one of African American's most important political figures.

5: He later on published "Soul on Fire" in 1978 and went on releasing his support on the religious ideas of Sun Myung Moon and got involved in Mormonism.

6: All throughout life Cleaver continued to struggle with drugs problems and being in and out of jail. Died May 1, 1998.
