FC: The Stott Family | 2010 | England Scotland Wales

1: In August of 2010 Christopher, Claire, Graeme and Owen set off on an adventure. The day to leave arrived and with our backpacks and cases, off we went.....until someone nearly left in our cab, a typical Stott situation. Finally at the airport, on the plane and squished into the smallest seats possible the plane took off. Here are our memories... We went to new places, met family and reconnected with others, made friends, discovered castles, dared the roads, found the bookshops, enjoyed the beach, loved the Museums, mastered The Tube and ate a lot of fish, chips and mushy peas. The sun shone for us nearly every day. We were thrilled to have been there but happy to come home... CHEERS

9: Callendar House... Built in the eleventh century by the Thane of Callendar. William Forbes Falkirk (1750-1850) purchased the estate in 1783...

12: Dinner with Mary Claire's family at their restaurant...very yummy! Last day shopping in Glasgow, and yes Susie they are taller than you. In the morning we catch the train to Edinburgh.

21: Checking out the streets of Edinburgh. Finally, a Starbucks... | Nice Hat...

22: Scottish Parliament (old & new), Dynamic Earth and a nearby Graveyard...spooky!

24: British Museum Founded in 1753, this museum has a remarkable collection that spans over two million years of human history....you can travel the world

26: Egyptian Mummies, Samurai Swords, Tibetan Gods and Crystal Skulls.

27: Out and about in London. We are Kings of the Underground!

28: Museums, museums, museums...the Natural History Museum, The Science Museum, and the cocoon at the Darwin Center....

29: Buckingham Palace (a modern castle..Buckingham House built in 1762), The Royal Mews and The Queen's Gallery...and yes we lost Dad...! ! | Dad?..... | THE PALACE | THE MEWS | THE GALLERY

30: Out for a walk past Harrods and what do we see? Zoom Zoom...London style. Boy's, please get out of the middle of the road...

31: Traveling onward to the amazing beauty of Wales. First to visit Keith, Jacquie & family and to brave the narrow roads that lead to Laswern Fawr...

32: Laswern Fawr

33: Hiking with Keith, Jacquie and the sheep at Craig y Cilau, just down the road from Laswern Fawr and also up a hill Chris raced up when he was a boy... we walked. Stunning views.

34: Hay on Wye....a Book Lovers paradise. Book stores in Castles and around every corner. Guys....? I lost everyone...

37: Castle Oxwich and a day at Traeth Beach in the Oxwich Bay Nature Reserve (Swansea Bay). Tomorrow we leave for Penarth to see Audrey and family.

38: A walk to Penarth Bay, a Mini Cooper Car Show, a Dr. Who Exhibit and finally a boat ride home...to Graeme's delight. We end the evening with dinner at Jamie Oliver's Restaurant...to Owen's delight... | hot

42: Missing, one Graeme Stott. Please feed and water...

43: Around the Camden Market... | No, Chris you can not keep her...

44: The Tower of London... William the Conqueror began to build the massive stone tower at the center of this London fortress in 1070...the ruthless William intended for the tower to dominate the skyline. Nearly two thousand years later it's still doing that.

47: Westminster Abbey A surprise for the boys. Its beauty and history hold many wonders. A working church, the construction started in 1245. William the Conqueror was the first recorded Coronation in the Abbey. | Shade break

49: A final look at the city...Big Ben, the Eye, souvenir shopping, Trafalgar Square and finally a silly, tired bunch at Piccadilly Circus.

50: Leaving on a jetplane. It's time to fly home. We've laughed, smiled, cried, loved, learned, slept, ran, jumped, walked and grown. It must be time to eat again...
