2: QIN DYNASTY | Have you ever imagined burning books because you have to ; with no say. The rulers of the Qin Dynasty burned all Confucius books because they found them as a threat. Schools of individual thought because they did not want them to have thoughts.
4: Nazi Germany
5: May 10, 1933 was a book burning called "Nazi Regime". It occurred because German authors were writing books about the Nazis rudely, but they wanted it to be done.
6: In August 2003, two Michigan pastors, T.D. Turner Sr. and T.D. Turner Jr., burned one of the Harry Potter books outside their Jesus Non-Denominational church. They did this because people were getting mad of what people were doing about the books. People were acting like things in the book were real.
8: In May 1933, Nazi sympathizers in Berlin burned 20,000 books. Most of them were written by Jews and antifascists, like Albert Einstein. Slaveholders were so scared by the power of the word it became a crime to teach slaves how to read and write.
10: In August 1992, Serbian forces started a careful attack on the National and University Library in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A couple months before the library had been bombed, Serbian nationalists targeted the Oriental Institute. Also in Sarajevo, they were destroying tons of Jewish and Islamic manuscripts in many types of languages, along with thousands of documents.
12: Fahrenheit 451 | They burn the books because they are offensive to certain people. People can have thoughts bout them, which the government doesn't want. They don't want people to rebel against the government.
