BC: In the past the Anglo-Saxon children would mostly play outside. They would play ball games, and play with flowers, sticks, build chambers and play with sail boats.

1: This is just a few of the instruments that the Anglo-Saxons would play in their free time. The one at the top left is called whistles, the one in the middle is called pan pipes, and the one at the top right is a harp.
2: This is one of the games the Anglo-Saxon people would play in there free time. This is a type of board game that was found in Scandinavia. This game is called Hnefatafl
3: This is another type of game that they would play! It is an earlier type of dice!
4: This is the mead hall. This is where everybody would gather with there king. There they would sing, dance, eat, drink, and have fun. They would also go there to get warm, because in England it is very cold. The king would also be very safe in there!
5: The most popular form of entertainment was music and storytelling. In Saxon England they would have professional storytellers that would travel from village to village just telling stories, they were called "scops" they would tell stories in return for food, lodging, and money.
