1: George Washington Carver Lizzie Gilbert May 8,2009
2: Have you ever bitten in to a soft and creamy peanut butter and jelly sandwich? Well you should thank George Washington Carver because he invented peanut butter and other things we use daily.
3: George was born sometime between 1860-1864. He was born in Diamond, Missouri. He had one sister and one brother there names were Tom and Mary. He was always interested in school, when he was 12 he left the Carvers to go to school.
4: When he got older he went to college at Simpson College in 1890. Then in 1891 he transfered to State Agricultural.
5: In 1923 he was awarded the National Association of the Advancement of Colored People for his love of science.
6: In 1940 he gave his life savings of $33,000 to the Tuskegee Institite. He died on January 5,1943 he lived to be 79.
7: He is imporant because he is smart and invented many things such as peanut butter. that is why I think he is important.
