Every year, all the grandkids take a picture on the couch after we eat Christmas dinner. In this picture from 8 years ago, I'm only 9 years old and my youngest cousin was having her second Christmas at age 1.

August 2011 | North Carolina Every year my whole family goes to the beach over the summer. This is a picture of my family at the beach this past year.

BIRTH TO AGE 2 | Elisabeth Cox and Parker Smith June 1998 This is my cousin and I at an air show when we were little. My parents completely love this picture and my mom always asks me what we were talking about. I obviously don't know, but it's fun to speculate!

Parker Smith, Elisabeth Cox, Kelsie Plusch March 1997 We are at a birthday party in this picture, as evidenced by the fact that we are actually wearing party hats. I'm the little kid eating a cupcake with my face. I was quite a classy little kid. I'm pretty sure this is on my grandparents deck because of the lawn chair.

I was born at Henrico Hospital at 7:27 AM in Richmond, Virginia. I was five pounds, four ounces and 18.5 inches long. My parents decided to name me Elisabeth Brooke after my Mom's sisters Lisa and Brooke. I was born 5 weeks premature, so I had to stay in the NICU for two weeks after I was born. My mom had to come see me everyday to feed me. After I was released from the hospital, I had a heart monitor for a year. My parents always complain about how it used to go off in the middle of the night even though I was always fine. However, I grew out of my prematureness and began walking at 12 months. I could stand by myself at about 11 months and said my first word, Dada, at 9 months. I lived in Richmond with my parents in a townhouse when I was born. | BIRTH TO AGE 2 FAMILY STORY

PRESCHOOL | Elisabeth Cox and Parker Smith 1999 My aunt's wedding

Elisabeth Cox and Parker Smith December 1998 The Zoo My aunt Brooke always used to take my cousin Parker and I to the zoo before she had kids of her own.

PRESCHOOL FAMILY STORY When I was a little kid, I got into a lot of trouble by trying to be too adventurous with my cousin, Parker. One day when we were about 4 or 5, we decided that we were going to go exploring throughout the woods near my house. While we were walking through, we realized that we had gotten lost and didn't know how to get out. I started getting really nervous because I literally thought that there was no way out. I thought Parker and I were going to be stuck in those woods forever. After what felt like years but was in reality probably about a half an hour, our moms came into the woods and got us out. We were frantic and crying because we hadn't realized that our parents had been watching us "explore" from my front porch. We lived in Twin Hickory My mom was a stay at home mom so she took care of me when I got home from Welbourne Preschool. I liked to play with blocks, legos, and Barbies. I loved when my mom or grandmother would read me any book, especially right before I went to bed.

SCHOOL AGE | Catherine Cox, Parker Smith, Caroline and Elisabeth Cox, Heather Smith, and Alexis Cox. December 2005 This is me and my family at the beach over winter break.

Bruce, Caroline, Elisabeth and Alexis Cox November 2003 This is me and my family in front of our house posing for a loving family photo.

SCHOOL AGE FAMILY STORY Glen Allen, Virginia My mother was a stay at home mom so she took care of me when I got home from school. I really liked Yahtzee when I was little, so me and my sisters used to play it all the time. We also used to play pokemon and make-believe games. I was a brownie in Girl Scouts for a couple years and I played soccer. I really liked hanging out with my friends and drawing pictures. I also enjoyed ice skating and took lessons from the time I was 8 to when I was 11. One of my favorite stories from my school age was when my family and I went to Disney World. I had never been before and I thought it was literally amazing.

Elisabeth Cox May 2001 In this picture, I'm on my grandpa's boat with a little bird.

MIDDLE SCHOOL | Lina Gilbert, Nicole Fryling, Matt Kapinos, Devon Bremer, Trevor Autry, Kelsie Plusch, Elisabeth Cox, Drew Dawson, Mitchell Paoletti, Tiffany Prettyman, Meg Bosse, Brian O'Neill, Bobby Bohnke, Andrew Hamilton, Tyler Haislip March 2009 This is my group of friends in Washington D.C for a field trip!

Meg Bosse, Tiffany Prettyman, Nicole Fryling, Lina Gilbert, Elisabeth Cox, Kelsie Plusch March 2009 This is my smaller field trip group in D.C. My mom was the chaperon, so we visited a couple museums and spent most of our time getting food and dessert.

MIDDLE SCHOOL AGE FAMILY STORY Glen Allen, Virginia When I was in middle school, I got much more involved in art. I started taking art classes and perfecting my techniques in order to succeed in high school level art. I spent a lot of time hanging out with my friends on the weekend. The picture on the right is from the 8th grade dance. It's me and my friends Tiffany, Meg, and Kelsie. It was the first formal dance I had ever been to, so it was such a big day for me! I got all dolled up and had a great time. It was all in all a time that I will never forget.

FRESHMAN YEAR | Nicole Fryling, Elisabeth Cox, and Lina Gilbert October 2009 We are dressed up as Wildcats in the Homecoming Parade

Elisabeth Cox, Lina Gilbert, and Nicole Fryling October 2009 This is me and my friends right after we got ready for Homecoming Freshman year. We were way too excited because it was our first Homecoming ever. You can kind of tell in the picture, but we look so young it's crazy. | Elisabeth Cox and Lisa Smith August 2009 This is my aunt and I over the Summer right before my Freshman year. We were at my friend Shae's house for a party type thing, so we took that opportunity to take a picture. She was by far the best aunt anyone could ask for and I love and miss her so much.

SOPHOMORE YEAR | Elisabeth Cox, Anne Hunter Stephens, and Nicole Fryling March 2011 We're at Kelsie Plusch's Sweet Sixteen party Sophomore year! It was really fun celebrating her birthday with music and dancing. Plus they had really good mozzarella sticks. I ate like 10 of them.

Lina Gilbert, Elisabeth Cox, Nicole Fryling. May 2011. We are hanging out at the Apple Store like middle schoolers. :) | Elisabeth Cox, Shae Yeager, and Kelsie Plusch. September 2010. We are all at one of the first Deep Run games of the year.

JUNIOR YEAR | Elisabeth Cox and Nicole Fryling December 31st, 2011 This is my bestest friend Nicole and I. We were hanging out and taking pictures on New Year's Eve because we are really cool. Her and I have been best friends for like 6 years now, so I couldn't imagine ringing in the New Year with anyone else. I'm going to miss her so much when we are in college.

Anne Hunter Stephens and Elisabeth Cox December 2011 This is Anne Hunter and I at a Christmas party. We are dressed as elves because we are cute like that. Her and I have gotten a lot closer over the past couple years and she's so hilarious. I feel like this picture sums up our friendship pretty well. | Elisabeth Cox and Nicole Fryling October 2011 This is Nicole and I before Homecoming this year. We are all cute in black and white because we are adorable like that. Honestly, our Homecoming group was pretty awkward, but I was with her so it was all good.

Brian Rector and Elisabeth Cox December 2011 I figured I should include a picture of me and the boyfriend in this scrapbook. This is when he was home for winter break from JMU. I thoroughly enjoy his company. I am dressed as an elf in this picture so that kind of makes it that much better. In this picture we had been dating for like nine months I believe.

Alexis, Caroline, Elisabeth, Catherine Cox and Nicole Fryling. August 2011. THIS IS TOPSAIL 2011! Literally one of the best beach trips of my life. Having Nicole there made it by far so much more fun. My cousin is my age and he brought friends, so all the teenagers hung out and had a lot of fun on the beach. I sincerely hope that we all have a beach reunion this summer because it was a freaking blast. | Trey, Marcy, and Elisabeth Cox and Anne Hunter Stephens July 2011 This is all of us at my river house. We are hanging out on the tube having a good time. My cousin Trey was in town for the first time since he moved to Hawaii four years ago. Seeing him was so crazy, but really really nice. He hadn't seen me since I was twelve years old so I'm sure it was weird for him too.

HIGH SCHOOL FAMILY STORY This is obviously the easiest one for me to recall and think about because it's the stage I'm in right now! I still live in Glen Allen, Virginia. I'm into art and working with kids and I am very dedicated to making good grades and getting into a good college. I love spending time with friends on the weekend, I cry during sappy movies, I'm nervous for the future, and I'm learning life lessons at every turn. I'm so unsure where I want to go in life, I just know that I want to always be surrounded by the people that I love. My family is so amazing and supportive. My sisters and I get along really well and I'm looking forward to being there for them when they need me in the future. I'm so sad that I won't get to be there for my younger two sisters' first days of high school and that I won't be there to help them through their problems when I'm in college. I know I won't be able to comfort them when their heart gets broken for the first time or when their friends are being mean. I'm going to miss my family so much, but I know college is going to be incredibly fun and that it is going to lead me to my future, so I am ready for whatever comes my way. :)
