FC: Hero Book
1: What a Hero is To Me, a hero is someone that accomplishes great things in their life, like helping others, doing good things, or influencing people. To me, a hero is kind, helpful, brave, adventurous, intelligent, and caring.
2: Twiggy has been in many plays and movies. She had her own T.V. show on ITV called Twiggy's People. She also starred as a judge on Tyra Bank's America's Next Top Model. | Twiggy She was one of the world's first super models. She was also an actress, singer, and supported breast cancer research. She was an advocate of animal welfare.
4: Beowulf is a hero to me because he is helpful. He is helpful because he goes to the Danes to kill Grendel and save the people. He is also strong. An example of this is when he rips Grendel’s arm off. Another thing, he is adventurous. He travels a lot to help other people. He is also determined. An example of this is when he is determined that he will kill Grendel and his mother. These are all reasons why Beowulf is a hero in my eyes.
5: Florence Joyner She was a famous runner. She won a silver medal in the 1984 Summer Olympics doing a 200- meter run. In the1988 Summer Olympics she won three gold medals and a silver medal. She still holds the record for the 100 and 200 meter runs. | Sports
6: Benjamin Spock He wrote the book Baby and Child Care. He influenced a lot of women and mothers. In his book he taught women and mothers to believe in themselves. His book is also one of the best selling books of all time. | Medicine
7: George Washington Carver He was an inventor that made more than 100 products from peanut crops. | He was also the first black students of Iowa State. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree, and his professor talked him into staying in college to complete his Master's degree. | Carver was in charge of the agriculture department of the African-American Tuskegee Institute in 1896. Another thing he did was got Congress to pass a tariff on imported peanuts. | Agriculture
8: Alexander Graham Bell Bell invented the first telephone. At age twelve, he made a device with rotating paddles with nail brushes that dehusked wheat. This was his first invention. In 1872, Bell went out on his own to tutor deaf children. | Technology

10: Taylor is since considered an American daredevil (though this was her only known stunt). But honestly, what more would she have had to do to earn that title? | Annie Edson Taylor One hundred and eleven years ago she climbed into a wooden barrel and became the Queen of the Mist. Taylor, a widow by way of a a Civil War soldier, decided to travel over Niagara's hazy falls via a timber tub. She became the first woman and first person ever to complete such a feat. | History
