4: Long awaited trip to Korea James, Jacob, Caryn, and Yong traveled to Korea on June 3rd, 2007 for an 8-day visit to Seoul. This book displays pictures of their visit. While nights were spent recuperating at a hotel in Seoul, the days were shared with family.

5: Ramada Seoul This is a view of our hotel from the park where the tombs of Seolleung and Jeongneung are kept. Cityscape, Seoul, Korea

6: The park next to our hotel was similar to the NY Central Park. It was nessled in the middle of busy commerical district. Email to Joe and Angie (Tuesday for you.) Today is the Korean Memorial Day, so we are looking forward to a great family get-together. It's going to be interesting. Yesterday, we had a lot of fun. Right by the hotel there is a big park with several ancient tombs from former rulers. There were tons of school children from Eli's age up to Jacob's age. I was captivated just watching them. And, what a sight I was for them...they were the ones that have acted the most surprised with me. James' uncle owns a small pool hall. Pool is different here with the pool table having no pockets. And you use only 3 balls. I haven't learned it yet, but Jacob says he'll teach me. :.) He spent some time with James' uncle last night while we were gone to eat.

7: Notice the moutains behind this park? It looks like downtown San Francisco today!

14: We had a feast!!!

24: Gravesite of James' grandmother

25: James' dear uncle...he was killed in a tragic car accident in his mid-thirties. Left behind two daughters and wife. He was James' father-figure, friend, uncle, tutor, and much more.
