FC: Manitoba Birding | Adventure Caravans May 23 to June 21, 2011
2: Our rendezvous begins in Rugby, SD where we take care of rig stickers and get to know each other | We have a social every night, get in some geocaching and go out for pizza at the local Pizza Hut
3: We cross into Manitoba Canada and stop at Turtle Mountain Provincial Park for some birding and exercise
4: Shari's great find. We can fire Bert now
5: 2nd choice campground cuz of the floods | Georgia cooks s'mores and Bert eats | Bert gives a campfire talk and we enjoy Mexican hotdogs.
6: Melita, The banana capital of Manitoba is a little wet | Campground of previous years is flooded | Muck outside our doors
7: The area is so flooded that sandbags and pumps are needed | Water everywhere, even lapping at the sides of the highways
8: Bert does tailgunning duties | We enjoy a nice steak sandwich | You got to be kidding! They full time in THAT.
9: Birding and a bear | The boot brigade | Good thing they have those boots
10: Bert swings a mean ax for a hot fire | Happy Anniversary, Doug and Kay | The star of the party
11: The birders see a moose. Richard and I go biking | The brown dot on the boardwalk is a mink
12: Casino Parking | Dale and Beverly come prepared for bugs | Another great LEO | There is a bird on that nest
13: Georgia looks like she has done this before but Beverly is not so sure | Let's go to the dump to look for bears

15: John thinks it is warm today. Some bird at Tim Hortons | Spaghetti anyone?
16: Richard serenades us and the bird sitting on the uke case | Walking the plank. Georgia helps Barbara find a bird
17: We each have a great campsite at Wekusco Falls
18: A wonderful lunch stop to take a walk and see the beautiful falls | What a surprise to see a martin
19: All aboard for the train ride to Thompson. We enjoy a drink in the observation car before dinner in the dining car. We see a long sunset before retiring to our small room for the night.
20: Sunrise and breakfast on the train | Our bus is waiting | to take us to our lodge | and we start to bird
21: Kay spots a fox family and Shari spots a beach front fixer upper for Barbara
22: The bus is stopped by a snow bank and has to back up. | Potty stop
23: A day of birding the junk yard and seeing the sights
24: Occasionally Shari would go birding
25: John is ready for the beach, Marilyn is set for cold and Doug thinks he is in the Arctic | Kay is ready for anything and Bev and Dale warm up with coffee before braving the outside
26: Richard and Georgia at breakfast | Bert shows the birding software | Whatever do they see?
27: We go to the point one last time to look for Beluga whales | And there they are!
28: Too soon it is time to board the train for our trip back to Thompson
