1: The Mayan Social Structure is categorized like a pyramid.

2: The Bottom of the Pyramid... | The bottom of this "pyramid" is made up of the Ppentacob. The people that are classified under the Ppentacob were the slaves.

3: This group people became slaves by either A) being born into slavery B) a punishment for a crime C) being captured as prisoners of war Their Jobs... ~grinding corn, carry/trade goods, and paddling canoes

4: The Next Step Higher on the Pyramid. | A step higher in the Mayan Social Class System were the Ah chembal unicab. The Ah chembal unibac were know in modern day times as the commoners.

5: What were their jobs? ~Artisans, artist, traitors, minor officals, and farmers. Where did they live within the city? ~Lived outside the city in villages.

6: The Next Step | The 2nd highest social class step in the pyramid is the Ahkinb. The Ahkinb are made up of the priest.

7: A hierarchy within a hierarchy... | Top of hierarcy; Ahkin ( High priest) Middle of hierarcy: Assistant priest Bottom of hierarcy: local priest

8: The Top of the Pyramid. | The top of this social pyramid were the Almehenod. The Almehenod were composed of the noble people.

9: Who exactly were these people? ~ members of the ruling elite ~Controlled government and warfare. | Positions were passed down through... ~ bloodline ~ generation to generation | Placement of their homes... ~ had homes fronted on the cental plazas of the city state.
