FC: CHRYLER MUSEUM OF ART Photo Visit Essay March 8, 2012
1: Visitor Services A Gallery Guide welcomes each guest by opening the door and causally checking their bags.
3: VISITOR SERVICES, DEVELOPMENT, EDUCATION Visitors check in at the Welcome Desk where they can pick up a printed guide/map of the museum. They can rent an Ipod for a self guided tour. Children begin their scavenger hunt here. And a visitor can also become a member by signing up at this desk.
4: Education The gallery tours are given by trained Docents. | Media Manager A multimedia list of all of the days programs and exhibitions.
5: Museum Store A non-profit store.
6: Curator, Registrar, and Graphic Designer The Curator choose the piece to display. The Registrar has the vase numbered and keeps track of it in the system. The graphic designer collaborated with the curator and printed the description about the piece.
7: Art Handler, Conservator, and Curator According to the sign the cabinet was restored on-site by a conservator. The Curator choose the vases to put inside of the cabinet and the location of the piece within the gallery space. The Cabinet was set into place by an Art handler.
8: Exhibition Designer Behind this door an Exhibition Designer is finalizing the layout and lighting for a traveling exhibition titled: 30 Americans
9: Archivist and Librarian The Archivist has books and records of two Historic Houses owned and operated by the Chrysler Museum of Art. The Librarian assists students doing research.
10: Education Education plays a major role at the Chrysler. It has programs for toddlers, K-12, and college students.
11: Facilities A team of Grounds Keepers manage and keep the two gardens at the Chrysler Museum looking beautiful every season.
