FC: Growing up making things | Noah's Project Book

When Noah first started playing with toilet paper, I knew he was a creative sort of fellow. He used to pull it off by the roll when I just turned my back for a second!

Noah started getting interested in building at a really young age. Here he is with his buildings made out of Mega Blocks.

These are towers that are very carefully put together so that they will remain standing. Noah had to pay very close attention to providing balance to these buildings.

Noah made his own bowling set out of plastic cups, and used a favorite ball to knock them over. This was at Grandma and Grandpa Frix's house, and sometimes Grandma played this with him!

One of Noah's favorite things to do was to make his own contraptions out of tinkertoys. This is a small car that he used levers to make stop and go.

Here Noah has built a machine from a block set that allows him to make 3 preset machines. He also used these blocks to make up his own designs.

Look at all these toys! Noah is surrounded by his favorite things. The colorful machine in front is one that he built from a K'nex set.

Tinkertoy dinosaur | Yet another tinkertoy contraption .... a windmill.

This is a very large contraption that did many different things. Noah sat in the middle of it to control its many levers and wheels.

The basement web took many hours of Noah's time to create. It is made up of yarn, pipe cleaners, construction paper and even an egg carton. It stretched across almost half the basement.

A robot made out of blocks. This was designed exclusively by Noah. There was lots of attention paid to detail! This robot has moving arms, legs and head.

Snow creations - snowmen with leaf ears and stick antlers.

Transformers - more than meets the eye..... Tranformers - Robots in disguise Noah must have had at least 50 transformers! He STILL has them to this day! He has spent hundreds of hours transforming these things, and I have spent quite of bit of time helping him too.

Noah the Warrior Noah found a very large box and couldn't resist making something out of it. Here he is with a helmet and mace, and is for sale in a box.

Robots made from a set of blocks that was originally created to make machines. These are all Noah originals.

 Robots sitting on a ledge...relaxing.

Digging, digging, and more digging. Then add water. MORE water. And you get...... | River Project

BIG dirty mess | BIG dirty mess!

 Bionicles

A sea of bionicles. All of these are Noah's own creations. He had thousands of pieces of bionicle parts, and loved to make his own designs. Some of them he gave names and put online on the Lego website.

Dog and cow buddies drawn by Noah.

This contraption is a foot wash created by Noah and his friend Liam. The water came in through the hose into the wheel barrow, spilled over into a funnel, went through a pool noodle, and finally into the big dish that you were to wash you feet in.

This robot was created out of a large set made by Radio Shack. Noah also built some type of vehicle with this set. The robot and vehicle were remote controlled and actually moved!

Noah is standing on Uncle Mike's hand!!

This is something Noah created from Legos to depict a scene from "Back to the Future". It has the clock tower complete with poles and wire, and a DeLorean.

This is the snow serpent that Noah built one very cold winter.

At Christmas time, Noah made snowflakes that we hung from the light in the entryway.

I asked Noah to paint a picture for me with flowers. He painted this flowering tree with an owl peeking out.

Noah made this suit out of newspaper one day when he was bored. It's such a classic design.

Sometimes, being creative means being very dramatic. Here Noah was just goofing around creating funny pictures with Sarah so that they could put together a small photo book for me. Noah wanted to look as if he were a fountain.

Here, Noah is being run over by a car..or is he.....?

This is a very yummy looking candy train that Noah created to go with his gingerbread house one year at Christmas. Noah and Sarah have been making these gingerbread houses for the past few years.

Noah is a very creative young man. This book just shows a very small portion of the many, many things that Noah has created over his almost 13 years. He has always been quick to think of something to do with an empty box, a sheet of paper, or any type of empty container for that matter. He has spent thousands of hours creating his own designs from every type of building set ever made. He has gotten rid of some of these sets, but still has thousands of Lego pieces that he will still sometimes create something out of. Now most of Noah's creations are on paper, on the computer, sometimes still include an empty box, or are in his head, just waiting to come out.

...blocks | ...all sorts of things can be created from almost anything... | ...snow | ..boxes

 ...candy | ...paper | ...water
