BC: Overall I believe it is not the art work that makes an artist known or skilled, but the work put into the painting. Norman Rockwell showed this in his brilliant work and style. To this day their is no other artist that can compare to Norman Rockwell. | - Ryan Nordstrom

FC: Norman Rockwell

1: Rockwell was born February 13, 1894. His maternal grandfather was a professional artist. Although his father was not a well known artist, he was great.

2: Norman Rockwell was one of America's top artist. His paintings showed his personality and skills. | He painted America and it clearly showed.

3: During WWI, Rockwell tried to enlist in the U.S. Navy but was refused entry because he was underweight. He went home that night and spent the whole night gorging himself on bananas, liquids, and doughnuts. He then weighed enough to enter the next day. However, he was given the role of military artist and did not see any action during his tour of duty.

5: He is also noted for his work for the Boy Scouts of America; producing covers for their publications Boy's Life, and many other illustrations.
