2: Walter is an African American male who lives with his wife, son, mom and sister. They live in a small apartment somewhere in a city.

3: Walter's Dreams are to get rich and move his whole family into a bigger house.

4: obstacles that are in his way include the risk's he has to take to do the schemes with his friends. He can loose everything if he isn't careful. Another obstacle is he doesn't really have support from his family.

6: My name is Cory Flowers. I am 16 years old, and go to Osborne High School. I like JROTC, and love to watch football, baseball, and basketball.

8: My goals in life are first, to graduate from high school and college. Then after college, go into the Army. Then later on after the military, Have a career in forensic science.

10: Obstacles in the way of my goals include: Math Money for college Being quiet Lack of enthusiasm

12: "Harlem" What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Or fester like a sore - And then run? Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over - like a syrupy sweet? Maybe it just sags like a heavy load. Or does it explode? - Langston Hughes, 1951

13: 1.What is Hughes' message about dreams deferred? This means if you put your dreams on hold, they will eventually be gone | 2.How do "dreams deferred" relate to the American Dream? They relate because they both of them involve dreams. | Why do you think Hansberry selected "Montage of a Dream Deferred" as the preface to A Raisin in the Sun? Because Walter had a dream to one day have a lot of money.

14: 4.According to the poem, what major obstacle has interfered with African Americans' quest for the American Dream? One major obstacle that African Americans had was they were afraid to just got for it, without worrying what other races thought.
