FC: Achieving the American Dream | by: Kiera Allen , Curtis Hawkins , and Briniel Occeus
There are many things that stand in someones way of reaching goals in life. There are people that do not have goals to reach in their life , so they want to prevent people from reaching their goals. I am protecting my American dream by staying focused on it and not letting negative things stand in my way.
One person that has inspired me in life is Oprah Winfrey. She has taken on many obstacles in life but made them into a positive situation. She was molested as a child and her parents were separated. With her only having her mother to depend on and being molested , she became a very troubled child. Oprah's mother couldn't handle her immature behavior so she sent her to live with her father. Oprah's father was very strict and school was the only thing she focused on. She made it into college and accomplished many other things in life. Oprah now has her own show , magazine, radio station , and network channel. Oprah has overcome the things that no one has ever thought of overcoming. She could have taken her negative situations and let it be an excuse to why she couldn't reach her goals in life, but she took her bad situation and let it make mold her into the woman she is today. | Kiera
Curtis | To me the American Dream means to be successful in life and get to enjoy all there is fun in life. Drugs , family issues, school , and alcohol abuse have major effects on me in trying to reach the American Dream. I am protecting my dream by not putting myself into these situations ever again. My parents cousins and close friends have inspired me to stay in school and do the right thing so that i may achieve my dream.
The American dream to means to live your life up until the end. But while you are living your life , enjoy the things you do in life because you only have one and you don't get a second chance. I have inspired myself to pursue this dream because nothing stands in my way and its the way i want to live my life. | Briniel
