FC: Our Scrapbook 1920-1930 | By Fatine Ait-Haddou and Sophia Ahmad

1: Our first car was this Ford...Everyone had one. | This was something like our style in the 1920's | People nicknamed this era the "Roaring Twenties"

2: America went through its time of prosperity after WWI ended. Many lives were lost and many countries's economy went down terribly....that's when we became an isolationaist country. During the war, many people were asked to join the war. Posters like these were hung up almost everywhere!

3: Drinking was very popular during this era | 20's style got to everyone...hairstyles, shoes, dresses, personalities....

4: Dancing was on a daily basis for anybody who liked to party! | Sometimes, dance clubs like these would be FILLED with people!

5: People had such a deep passion during this era that they created patch eork about it! | Like I said..EVERYBODY had the same style!

6: This was the style that the women had in the twenties. | This was one of the magazine covers from the time of prosperity

7: Economy was booming...This is one of the charts of the economy in the 20's. Business was booming and almost everybody had jobs. Almost everybody had: | A family

8: A house | A car | And a job (These are the employment rates.)

9: When drinking on a daily basis was too much, people began to pass new laws called prohibition. Nobody really like that idea too much...

10: In order to create a state of "purity" of people whenever they drank more than the usual, people began to dump out barrels and tried to set out new laws.

11: The Great Depression

12: The Great Depression cause many people to loose their jobs.

13: With the unemployment rate going up and men being left with no jobs, the amount of homeless men and women increased.

14: Hoovervilles | With many people left homless, they began forming "Hoovervilles" named after Herbert Hoover because they felt that it was his fault.

15: Herbert Hoover | Herbert Hoover was president at the time of the Great Depression. Many people blamed him for what was happening. The made Hoovervilles(what was showed on the last page) and they also had 'Hoover Flags". Hoover Flags where when people flipped their pockets inside out to symbolize that they were "broke".

16: Stock Market Crash | The day the stock market crashed to an extreme was called the Black Tuesday | When people herd about the stock market crashing they all rushed to the bank to try and save their money

17: Banks all over the place were being closed.

18: People began to boycott the lockdown of banks.

19: Farmers were producing too much crops and selling them, the value of the crops began going down. The government would pay the farmers to not produce as much. This was called the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1933.
