FC: Choosing Our Stories and Getting Reacquainted with Them | Personal Narratives
We spent the month of January reading books that inspired us to write our own personal narratives. This photo journal story highlights the two days we spent choosing a story for our Personal Narrative Movie and getting reacquainted with it.
We spent time reviewing the definition of Personal Narratives, reviewing the types of stories we read that inspired us to write our own narratives, and watched Mrs. Meacham's example of a Personal Narrative Movie Maker Story.
Personal Narratives are true stories about someone's life.
We had fun reading the stories we'd written over the span of 6-8 weeks.
Choosing our final story was a daunting task at first, but turned out to be lots of fun!
We choose a story and shared it with a classmate!
 So many choices, choices, choices!
We found a spot in the classroom where we could work independently to choose our story.
"I read first. You read next." Partner reading helps us read our story fluently.
We practice reading so that we can comfortably and easily share our story with the class.
We turned our final story into "Tina".
"Is it about me? Did it really happen?"
 We love partner reading!
Read. Read. Read some more! Think. Think. Think some more. Then...DECIDE!
We read all our stories to be sure we pick th right one.
Our classmates always have good ideas and questions. Their good ideas and questions help make our stories better.
