S: Sarah and Ben...the early years
BC: This book was made with love, for two people in love.
FC: Side by side - year by year | A celebration of love
There are so many wonderful things about Sarah: I hate to say one thing is my favorite. Sarah approaches life with a passion. Her heart is in everything she does. She has chosen a career that helps fulfill her as a person, and lives a life in a way that no day is wasted. | I leave the mail in the mailbox so Ben can get it out when he comes home for the weekend. He loves to get the mail. I make him coffee the night before so that it is ready in the morning when he gets up. I pretty much take care of his every need.
If I could identify what makes Sarah "the one," then I could probably write a best seller on relationships. Whatever "it" is, it is innate to both Sarah and I as individuals as well as a couple. I know that there is something special, because even after so many years, I wake up each day feeling like I've won the lottery knowing that Sarah is in my life.
Ben is smart, funny and pretty great all around. He can always make me laugh. We have a fun life together. Ben is caring and sweet and family oriented. He always wants to do things for other people.
What was your first impression of Ben? I thought Ben was a frat boy who I would never like -- but I thought he was very cute!
What was your first impression of Sarah? I thought Sarah was out of my league. She was cute and confident.
I always believed in soul mates, but until I met Sarah, I never grasped the meaning of the phrase.
I never believed in "soul mates" until I met Ben. Ben is the sweetest man I know.
Marriage should make you strive to be a better person. it should give you room to grow. It should always be based on respect, loyalty, and of course, unconditional love. | Marriage is a symbolic commitment of eternal devotion made by two people before their friends, family, God and one another.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. | It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. | Love does not delight in evil but rejoice with the truth. | It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
I don't think I ever thought I'd actually get married before I met Ben. | Since meeting Sarah, my needs (and therefore my dreams) have been reduced to one simple thing: To spend all my days with my wife.
Sarah and I hit it off instantaneously and have been inseparable ever since.
No matter how filthy rich we become, the fundamentals of a good life--family, friends, and each other--will always be there.
And then there was three! | I hope we raise good, happy children who make positive contributions to the world. | We would like to adopt children if God affords us the resources to do so.
In 40 years, where do you see yourselves? I hope we are living at least part time in our home in Ireland and traveling all around. Other than that, we will probably be like other 70 year olds. We will read the paper, take walks, and spend time with our grandchildren.
Ben is funny, he can always make me laugh. We have a fun life together. | I realized Sarah and I were a perfect match almost right away. We have always seemed to compliment one another. She truly does complete me.
