BC: I know one of these days I'll return.
FC: MY JOURNEY TO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST | Seattle, WA 2002
Having been a teenager in the early 90's, I was always attracted to the music scene that came out of Seattle. | The actual Sound Garden. (Magnuson Park - Seattle, WA)
So when my friend Mindy moved to Seattle in 2002, I finally had the motivation to visit the city where so much of my favorite music had come from.
Standing in one of the sculptures that decorates the park down the street from her apt in the Queen Anne District. | Mindy
View near Lake Union, overlooking downtown just down the street from her place. | Of course, those cloudy, hazy days don't make for the best photo-ops.
Now, when you think of Seattle, you probably think of ... | The Space Needle | Pike Place | Mt. Rainier | and of course...
 Starbucks... | Starbucks... | and more Starbucks | !!!!!
But of course there's much, much more. | I visited the Experience Music Project. | Music and sci-fi museum opened in 2000, designed by Frank Gehry.
I went hiking through Mt. Rainier National Park. | Christine Falls | Grove of Patriarchs Loop
Glacier Basin | Gobbler's Knob Fire Lookout | End of Glacier Basin Trail
And while all of that was great, and while it may seem odd to some, my favorite part of the trip was when I got to visit...
Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Renton,WA | Why, you ask?
Because it's the final resting place of one of my music idols... | James Marshall "Jimi" Hendrix | Corner of Broadway & Pine, Capitol Hill District
 Jimi Hendrix Memorial
And not too far from Jimi are a couple more famous people. | Bruce & Brandon Lee
And after 4 wonderful days of seeing my friend, visiting the EMP, hiking a glacier, and roaming a cemetery in the Pacific Northwest, I headed home.
And even though I haven't been back since then...
