FC: S | Sophomore Year Memories
Foreword | I consider it a privilege to have known you. I love you all individually and as a whole. We've created so many memories, and I'm thank- ful for each and every one of them. I love you all, and I hope you enjoy this book.
"One does not make friends. One recognizes them."
Ling Li | Our Newest Addition
This year, Ling Li joined us and left her permanent mark on our lives. Moving from Chicago in the middle of high school may have been tough, but Ling surely made it worth while. Since her first day to Brentwood, she's depended on us to make her feel at home, and we've counted on her endless cheer and to brighten our lives.
Don't you hate those who won't take pictures? | Jacob Steele
Derwin Aikens | Jessica Pereira | Jacob Steele
What's not to love about Derwin? | Despite that he can't go one day without calling someone a "stupid cunt," Derwin has a cheerful presence about him. Always being there to contribute to a good laugh. And the "Breadsticks; pose is amazing. I love the happy feel to your surroundings. "Derwin is always able to make you laugh when you're down. He's super nice, easy to talk to, and reliable." - Jessica Pereira
A Five, six, seven, eight | A few bouquets of flowers, five standing ovations, and one amazing performance sums up 2009's Spring Musical, A Chorus Line. Starring Derwin Aikens and Kaiya Gales, A Chorus Line was the play to see, if you wanted to see Derwin confess his love for a stripper with "Triple D's" or see Kaiya sway lighly on her feet for the song "At the Ballet". This was one of the best musicals ever put on at Brentwood.
"What is a friend? A friend is a single soul dwelling in three bodies." - Aristotle
The Inseparable Trio | Ever since the beginning of time, these three were meant to be. When they're together, there's nothing but laughs. (At least with Nessa and Jessica laughing thirty minutes after everyone else is done.) Thtoughout all of the ups and downs, the bonds will always be great between these three.
 Farid Wadood | Jessica Pereira
"We may not have it all together, but together we have it all." | Derwin Aikens
Haha. Miggy. | Everyone loves Miggy. The picture says all. His "lateness" is amazing, and he looks hella funny when he spaces out.
Ahhh. Jacob. | Jacob's presence is amazing. There's almost never a dull moment around him. When I see Jacob, I think Sunkist and chocolate chip muffin...every...single...day.
 Semi Formal
Does Raye take normal pictures? | Raye has cultivated our small, unique group of friends since Middle School. She has an amazing personality and a cunning sense of cosplaying. Her drawing OCD can get her into trouble at times, but she's only human. A very down-to-earth, honest, human. I appreciate her.
Greatest Quotes of 2008-2009 Jacob: Derwin gets boners in public. Miguel: Wow... that happens to me all of the time. Derwin: Fat girls can get into strip clubs too... Miguel: Yeah, they just have to pay more. Vanessa: Haha!! He's fat! Kaiya: Everytime I hear someone say "The Game" I think "Monopoly". Kaiya: (After the earthquake) I've never ran up two flights of stairs so fast in my life.
John Lajoie: My dick is like lightning...it gives girls orgasms. Mrs. Coombs: I'd hate to tell you Morgan, but you don't have much of a life.
Remember that time when... | Derwin did the Breadsticks pose at Kaiya's house when we had the Guitar Hero party where Kaiya and Farid danced to "Single Ladies" by Beyonce, just like the scary guy in the mashup video which we all watched in the SLC that one day when we also saw Scarlett takes a Tumble and laughed our pants of just like when Jacob and Farid had been calling Miguel for ever and ten minutes after we stop calling him, he shows up and screams "What?!" in our faces, reminding us of how late he always is? Also that one time when we all
watched Sweeney Todd in the Gatorade room which was also Mr. Svec's room. What about that one time when Ms. Bishop told her yoga class to rock side-to-side on their backs and Jessica laughed for hours just like that time when Vanessa and Kaiya were high and laughing at anything and Kaiya said "Has the ceiling [in the SLC] always been slanted?" Or that time when Jacob broke his laptop and had a half black screen. How many people had Mr. Bley? What an awful teacher, eh? Remember when we were in the south Quad and Derwin said "Mr. Bley, I hate your class," and everyone laughed at him just like the time we were at Kaiya's and we were playing Kingdom Hearts 2, and Derwin skipped the scene really fast and said "Shut up fatty" before the character said anything? Yeah. Those were the days.
