FC: March - April 2010

Trip date - March 24, 2010 6:20 am Frontier Airline -from Seatac to DFW with connecting flight from Denver CO to Dallas, TX. Yay Dallas - here I come.... Wooot woot! Or so, I thought!

Day 0 - Tuesday 3/23/10 - Worked 7-3:30 pm. Got home at 4. Prep Princess & Quennie to bring them to Karla Wong's place. Drove to Spanaway 6:30pm. Chat a bit. Had dinner. Left the dogs. Then, went home. Got home around 9pm. Prep my stuff for the trip the next day. Cleaned house a bit. Didn't sleep at all or closed my eyes any. Groovy! Day 1 - Wednesday 3/24/10 - Got ready at 3am. Drove to Ft. Lewis base to meet up with friend Melody at the Lodge, so I can leave my car and she can drive me to the airport. Planned to sleep in the plane the whole time. | -Got to the airport at 4:30 am. Got in- line to get my ticket and get checked in. All of a sudden, Frontier airline rep. announced that the flight had been canceled due to snow in Denver, CO and the next flight out is not til Sunday. Well, great! My brother's wedding is Sunday! The guy said, I have 2 choices - wait til the next flight out or my money will be refunded. They will not assist in booking another flight with another airline - they are not capable of doing that. Wow, what kind of airline is that? Crazy! So, I waited for my turn to get my refund money. Luckily, I brought the laptop with me. Wooohooo

Day 1 continued - Got my refund slip- money won't be available til after 7 days. Oh well. Sat at the corner and got busy looking for another flight that leaves the same day. Found one. Yay! - American Airlines- straight flight from Seattle to Dallas, $645 dollars, double the price of Frontier. Ok, I can do that. Booked it! Now, all I have to do is hurry up inside and wait. Flight is not til 3:45 pm. It was only 5 or 6am. I can wait. I'm sleepy and tired, but yeah, I can wait. No problem. Got checked in - had to check in my luggage and pay $25 bucks cuz AA won't take a laptop bag, purse, and small luggage. That seems an excessive carry-on for them. Alright. Fine! Passed the metal detectors and x-ray machine stuff. Woohoo! Then, proceeded to my gate, just to see where it would be. Found it! Nice! Thank God for free Wifi at Seatac and Facebook. Now, I could write my frustration in my Wall. Thank God for my friends who kept me company by messaging me back on my wall. So, after checking e-mail, Facebook, news, etc..etc..., I still had plenty of time to spare and I'm really getting sleepy. So, I slept a bit in the chair amidst other passengers waiting for their flight - chatting away, playing, or whatever else they're doing. Man! What a day. A long day, it's turning. So, around noon, I decided to get up and explore a bit. I still have a couple of hours before they start boarding. So... let's see what Seaac airport looks like

Ok, so, still Day 1 - Apparently, there's a bunch of stores and restaurants in the airport that I've never seen before. Very cool! Anyway, back to my gate. An hour before boarding time, they announced that the AA flight to Dallas, TX has been canceled due to bad weather in Dallas. What?!!! That can't be possible, can it? Sheeesh! Luckily this time, American Airlines staff are able to rebook or find another way to get me out of Seattle, but not til the following day. OMG! Did I mention that I did not get any sleep at all, the night before? What will I do now? Anyway, long story short. I stayed in Seattle airport the whole day, the whole night. Talked to a Soldier heading to Japan while sitting, wondering what I should do. Pretty nice fellow. Facebook all my friends about my predicament and talked to my family about the delay. Oh yeah, thank God for WiFi. Oh! And of course, thank God for USO. Rock on Military world! Privileges are awesome. Got a couch, pillow, and blanket and got to sleep about 1-2 hours total during the night. Hmmmmm. But, I didn't have to stay in the hallways or sleep in the chairs by the gate like some other passengers had to do. Thank you Lord Jesus!

So, the neat thing about being stranded in an airport is that I get to walk around and see stuff I've never seen. Also, got to experience kind-hearted people at USO and learned a valuable lesson - sleep the night before any travel. Oh and of course, God is with me every step of the way. Praise God! | Day 1 was an extremely tiresome day and am glad for the experience, but am so ready for Day 2. ---Day 2 - Thursday 3/25/10- Boarded Alaska Airline at 6. Stopped over at San Francisco for an hour. But within that hour, I had to find the exit, get my ticket at American Airline, check my luggage in, get in line again to go through metal detectors and scanners, find my gate, and board my connecting flight to Dallas. What a day!

Day 3- Friday - a date with my Mama. Here she is trying on some outfits for the wedding. | Mama: Why is this sticking up?

This one you look like an Indian and you're drowning in it. Ooooglee* I said. | This one is the winner! Woot woot! | Day 3 was fun. After shopping. We went to Walmart and got manicure, pedicure, and foot spa with massage thingy. Then, Pappadeux with friends in the afternoon. Wiiii!

Hang out with mom n dad

Day 4: Wedding Rehearsal - Saturday, March 27,2010

Day 5: Sunday -The Big Day! March 28, 2010

Day 6: Monday 3/29/10 - Spent with Kuya & Cherry at their new apartment. Smiles and laughter just catching up.

Day 7: More visit with friends.

Day 8: Woke up at 5 am. Left at 6. Got to DFW airport at 6:30. Boarded an American Airline straight flight back to Seattle, WA at 8. Saw sunrise and beautiful view of Mt. Rainier. Cried a bit for leaving again. But, will be back again soon. Overall, the trip was worth it and seeing family and friends again is definitely priceless. A very nice quick trip home. See you again soon!
