FC: Got steroids? | AHHHHHH | 2011

 Play Ball!

Do you know what steroids really are and what they do? I bet the average person doesn’t know what steroids do to your body other than make you look big and muscular. Steroids are artificially produced hormones that are the same or similar to androgens, the male sex type hormone in the body. Performance enhancing drugs, also called steroids, should be banned in order to make games more evenly matched and prevent the harm they cause to the body.

GO steroids | UNCLE SAM WANTS YOU

Why do people take steroids? People take steroids because they think it’s the only way to build strength and muscle, another reason people take steroids is because in today’s world, people enjoy entertainment and the athletes want to win. Athletes are willing to do whatever it takes to win. Several players got into the NFL by using steroids, and teenagers are using steroids more than ever. Another reason people take steroids because steroids is a drug and like other drugs people use them to escape reality, or to gain weight after an injury, and they enjoy what the drug does for them.

 Lets go Team!

There are a lot people taking steroids in Feb there was a survey of 568 players and 79% said that they think steroids had some role in record breaking performances. There was another survey that involved 2,113 high school students. That survey showed that 4.4% (94 students) admitted to using steroids. There were 1,028 males 6.5% (67 students) were using steroids and there were 1,085 females and 2.5% (27 students) were using steroids. Steroids have been around for a while in 1988 the Journal of American Medicine published a study that involved male teens. Participation for the study was an overall of 67.8% there were 46 high schools across the country and all were 12th grade males the result showed that 6.6% of the males were using or used anabolic steroids.

Telling high school students that steroids can kill them are not very effective because they think they are indestructible. Steroids have many overall side effects like premature balding or hair loss, dizziness, delusional, paranoia, sleeping problems, nausea and vomiting, high blood pressure, mood swings including anger, aggression, and depression, you also have a greater chance of muscle tendon injury and increase risk of heart disease, stroke, an other types of cancer. For guys you may experience testicular shrinkage, pain when urinating, impotence, and sterility. For girls you may experience increase facial hair growth, development in masculine traits like deep voice, shrinkage of breast, and your menstrual cycle will change.

 Candy

steroids negativley effect the game because it gives the other team or other player an advantage over the other team. For an example Austin an I have played against a guy that used and he is the reason why we loss by 4 points. In a interview of Austin Starnes he said and I quote

"After congratulating him on a good game he looked me in the eyes and said thats what roids do for you bruh" " I know that without him we would have easily won."

All in all Performance enhancing drugs/ steroids are bad because they make games unmatched. They also destroy your body. They may help in short term effects but in the long run you will regret you took steroids.
