1: I really liked this book, it was a quick read. But it stays interesting the whole time. I enjoyed reading about happier years in life, 1950s, and seeing how different yet the same our life is today. | My thoughts
2: Kit Corrigan | 17 years old, one of a set of triplets, The Corrigan Three. Raised by her dad and her Aunt Delia in Providence Rhode Island. She is the main character of the book! Kit moves to New York looking for a big role on Broadway, and to get away from her life in Rhode Island.
3: Brother and sister to Kit. Muddie's real name is Margaret. They are the driving force behind Kit and they always support her no matter what. | Muddie And Jamie
4: Aunt Delia and Da | The two people who raised The Corrigan Three. Also the cause of a lot of a family drama and issues. The people Kit trusts with all she has, the two that hardly support her.
5: Billy and Nate Benedict Billy is son to Nate, boyfriend to Kit, boyfriend to Jamie. Has an anger problem that has pushed him and Kit apart. Nate is father to Billy, husband to Angela. He is a 'lawyer' who's clients include people such as Frank Costello. Benedict's and the Corrigan's have been tied together by secrets and lies for years.
6: Kit moves to New York to pursue her dreams of becoming a Broadway star. This occurs after her and Billy have a falling out and Billy enlists in the army. All she brings with is her small suitcase and the little 'nice' clothes she has.
7: The Apartment | After struggling for a while trying to get by in New York, Nate Benedict offers to give Kit an apartment for a small deal. She has to watch over Billy and keep him informed. She agrees and moves in.
8: Hank Greeley | Kit's neighbor who watches out for her and walks her home from The Lido. His parents are teachers who are constantly being looked over by FBI agents because they go to rallies and stuff. Hank is a complete sweetheart who would do anything for Kit. | "True friendship isn't about being there when it's convenient; it's about being there when it's not. "
9: The Lido | Nate scores Kit a job at The Lido as a Lido Doll, or a chorus girl who sings and dances. Likes her job but wishes Nate wouldn't have gotten it for her.
10: The Past | Kit investigates her past and her relationship with Billy. She loves him a lot but doesn't know what to do. | She also looks into the past of her father and Aunt Delia. Trying to figure out why they are tied to the Benedict's. | Discusses growing up poor, her dad used them to gain money as 'The Corrigan Three' | Mulls over the death of her mother when she was giving birth to the three of them | Decides that she wants better then what she's used to
11: Billy Comes Back!
12: Billy proposes and Kit says she has to think about it. But she knows that she cannot let him go off to war and not marry him, she love him too much.
