FC: The Civil War | New weaponry and African America soldiers. | By: Patrick Pollock and Trevor Klatt

1: New weapons in the Civil War | Their were a variety of new weapons in the Civil War. From rifles to grenades. The war was fought during the industrial revolution, so their was a lot of new weapons.

2: Enfield Musket | This weapon was widely used during the American civil war. Infantries supplied both the North and South. Towards the end of the war, the British stopped supplying the South with these weapons because they new they weren't going to win.

3: Colt Army Model 1860 | With a muzzle loaded cap and ball and a .44 caliber revolver, this was a true civil war weapon. Favored by the infantry and artillery troops. over 200,000 of the guns were manufactured through 1860 and 1873. This gun is a six shot revolver and can shoot up to 100yds.

4: Civil war Grenades | Yes, the Civil War had grenades. Most of them were Ketchum Grenades. Ketchum Grenades have a tail too let it land on the plunger that lights the fuse. The North relied on these grenades. The South | relied on round hand grenades that weighed around six pounds. They also used grenades similar to the North's.

5: Blacks in the Civil War | Black troops in the Civil War ranged about 185,000. Their was a lot of black participation during this war. More black served on the Union side because they wanted freedom. By 1862 there were 3 black regiments in the union.

6: Kansas Colored Infantry | This infantry was not put into service tell 1863. But the regiment did fight in the Missouri Island Mound battle. A very high percentage of soldiers was killed during this battle.

7: Minnesota Colored Infantry | The 1st Minnesota volunteer regiment was the first volunteer regiment under president Lincoln. This regiment is mostly remembered for the Battle at Gettysburg.
