S: The Great Depression

1: What Caused the Great Depression? The Great depression was caused by the stock market crash. It was when people decided to use there store credit rather than paying with money. This resulted the stock market crash. Which caused people to panic. So they started to sell there share of stocks. Which then caused the market to go farther down, then it already had. This all sparked the beginning of Black Tuesday. The stock market lost over 40 billion dollars.

3: How long did the great depression last? The great depression lasted a twelve year period lasting from 1929 to 1941. The reason why it took so long was that a lot of people lost there jobs and homes, and it took a long time to find work again. For people who had no jobs could go to soup kitchens, and nonprofit organizations such as salvation army and American red cross.

5: What was life like during the Great Depression? Life was hard during the great depression people lost their homes and their jobs. It didn't ,make it any better in the Mississippi valley in the 1930's when they had there great drought. Better known as the "dust bowl." The dust storms also hit the great plains, North Dakota, and to Texas. They lost a lot of there crops, in the farmland areas. People were starved since they couldn't afford food in the urban areas. While in the rural areas they had to much food they had to see it go to waste since no one had the money to afford it. People were forced to sell things dirt cheap. In order to some how make money.

7: Who was affected during the great depression? Pretty much the United States, and Europe were mainly affected during the great depression. Unemployment rate was unbelievable. France, Germany, Italy, and Great Britain. By 1933, 26.6% of people who were wage earners were unemployed.

8: How did the Great Depression end? It ended by the "New Deal" programs the president had made with different countries. What really helped end the Great Depression was the beginning of World war two. The president then realized we need to get out of this depression and help end this war, that is coming up in our country.
