ACCIDENTS | 1) If an accident happens tell Mr. Bowers 2) If you hurt yourself tell Mr. Bowers 3) If you spill chemicals on yourself, flush the area with running water. 4) If you get chemicals in your eyes flush them for 15 mins. 5) NEVER wipe up the blood of a classmate TELL THE INSTRUCTOR 6) IF YOU COME IN CONTACT WITH BLOOD WASH HANDS IMMEDIATELY WITH SOAP AND WATER ALL OF THIS IS COMMON SENSE.

Equipment Safety | Screen Printing press: -Watch out for pinch points (Go Figure) -DONT BE STUPID (SERIOUSLY) Flash Dryer (Flash Cure): -Never touch the Top (ITS HOT) -Only move by holding the upright support or the side rails (Again ITS HOT) Conveyor Dryer: -Never touch the top (ITS HOT) -Take care in handling the shirts at the end (THEY ARE HOT)

Process of Screen Printing | First Pick out your design. Example:

Process of Screen Printing Cont. | Put image into Adobe Illustrator and outline your image to make the image not pixelated.

Process of Screen Printing Cont. | After separating colors on illustrator change the color to black and print off the images on PAPER and show Mr. Bowers the image for approval.

Process of Screen Printing Cont. | AFTER getting approval, then print off the images onto Film, Then run it through the conveyor dryer.

Process of Screen Printing Cont. | After running through Conveyor Dryer place film centered on a screen and Expose it.

Process of Screen Printing Cont. | After exposing, then place the screen in the washing tub and spray off the screen squeegee side first, then print side. Then place in dryer cabinet till dry.

Process of Screen Printing Cont. | After taking out of Drying Cabinet, then put on press and line them up.

Process of Screen Printing Cont. | Then Place test shirt on press and run a test print to make sure everything is lined up. Then run test shirt under dryer and put away.

Process of Screen Printing Cont. | Then place NEW NEVER WORN, NEVER WASHED t-Shirt on press and make sure that it is centered on press.

Process of Screen Printing Cont. | Then Print each color and flash dry after every print. then take off shirt and run through conveyor dryer.

Process of Screen Printing Cont. | Then take off all screens off the press and begin the cleaning process.

Cleaning process | Take all the ink off the screen and put on apple juice and wipe off the screen and clean it. Then take the ink off of the squeegee and set it back in the squeegee rack. Then take the screen and put it in the dunk tank and leave in for 2 mins. Then spray it off, then degrease it, then spray it off again and set it to dry.

The Basics of Screen Printing... The BLAH BLAH BLAH's if you will

There are 2 types of ink: =Water based and Plastisol. What screen printing is, is forcing the ink through tiny holes in the screen. After the image has been touched up in a program such as illustrator,\ the image can clearly be blown up to fit on anything, even things like Buses. There are also many different types of screens, but the ones that are used in Mr. Bowers printing lab are polyester. But the most important of the BLAH's is START SPRAYING THE SQUEEGEE SIDE FIRST
