FC: The War
1: Trench Warfare-A war tactic in which facing armies dug deep ditches to protect against enemy fire. | Neither Germans nor the allies push the other back.
2: No Man's Land- Area between the trenches that was protected by machine guns and barbed wire. | Killed many people and prevented them from crossing the trenches.
3: Machine Gun-Mechanical weapon that shoots more than 600 times a minute. | Poison Gas- A chemical weapon used on both sides in WWI to kill more people. | Tank-A large armored vehicle which moves with treads and is equipped with a canon.
4: All these new weapons made it easier to kill people.
5: This was the goal of both sides of the trenches. | Attrition- The process of weakening the other army by killing or capturing their soldiers.
6: Unrestricted Submarine Warfare- A war tactic of sinking ships of any kind, even passenger ships, without warning. U-boats are German submarines to sink ships heading to England.
7: U-boats would sink any ship in the war zone without warning.
