 (234) 329 - 4850 (542) 345 - 8249 Seventh Ministry Three may keep a secret, if one of them is dead Selah Morse Department of Municipal Inspection 3428 South st. New York , NY 60645 | First Business Card | A picture of my new office building at Seventh Ministry, the job that my uncle recommended me for in order to "get serious," and one of my business cards. | The work load is light but the company is extremely private, almost like a secret society. Just showing the card to people allows me to get away with so much!

Noodle Shop | A picture of my favorite noodle shop in New York City, where I saw a beautiful, elegant girl suddenly get hit by a speeding taxi | Here are a few leaves that were stuck in her long brown hair when the cab driver and I picked her up and drove her to a hospital

The card I got for her at the hospital gift shop | The doctor said that she had suffered from a concussion, but fortunately, she woke up quickly.

Mora Klein DOB: 6/13/83 Issued:7/18/08 Sex: Female New York University Hospital | THE HOSPITAL BAND | (Mora is not her real name. At the time of the accident, she was not carrying any I.D. so in order for me to make sure she was okay, I posed as her boyfriend and made that one up)

After performing several tests, the doctor confirmed that there were no serious injuries | A copy of her x-rays and blood work

Since Mora completely lost her memory, the doctor suggested that I construct a book detailing her past. (Supposedly this can help patients regain what they've lost). | Here are some of the stories that I hoped were close to true and that she might recognize herself in | All of these stories were made up, so most are incomplete; yet, they all connect to another and possibly to Mora.

I also told her about the close relationship I already had with the messenger-girl Rita. | The first story I told her was about my first day in the office at Seventh Ministry. These are pictures of my very own desk and the expensive custom suit I received.

 1) I then made up a story about a handsome man named Loren who had it all: good luck, wealth, and a gorgeous wife. | 2) One day he was so parched that he made a bet with a stranger. If he won, he would get a drink, if not he would have to give up his wife.

 4) Loren runs away from the man, but eventually gets so paranoid, that his wife leaves him. Loren then spends all of his time searching for her. | 3) Based on his previous history of good luck, Loren accepted, but unfortunately lost. This is a picture I painted of him crying.

In another of my stories, a man and his friend are searching for a girl. They reach a private inn owned by a local couple. They soon realize that they are trapped after news that once guests enter, they cannot leave. | (Although they did not work, this is a copy of the inn key card)

This is a bookmark from a man they met who was reading because he also was stuck in the inn. One thing they will never forget is when he said, "This is not simply going out one's door. When going out into the world, one is shedding misconceptions of past paths and ideas, and trying to move freely through new geography."

This is a small photo of empress Elizabeth, the woman who fell in love with the brave Count M. The Count was thrilled, but later ended up marrying the daughter of a Duke. | The Russian Empress

RUSSIAN FLAG | When Elizabeth heard the news she was infuriated, so she took all his land, split the couple up, and forced the Count to marry the ugliest woman in the city.

CHANGES | These were just a few of the stories that I told her. As time went on, Mora began to recognize herself as the beautiful girls in my stories, and that I am the one searching for them and their love.

Progress | Now, although it is slightly influenced by me, Mora is getting her memory back

Photos from a trip Mora and I took to Coney Island in New York | With everyday that we spent together telling stories after the accident, I fell in love with Mora even more, and luckily she fell in love with me too!

 { | { | LOVE

The Way Through Doors was written in an extremely unique way. With its complex format of several stories within another, it definitely challenges the idea of a traditional narrative. It also includes touches of symbolism and magical realism in the underlying plots that keep the reader questioning what is made up and what truly happened.

The Way Through Doors is similar to The Great Gatsby not only with respects to its New York setting, but also in the fact that the main characters are both searching for the one they love.
