1: Okonkwo | Okonkwo is the main character of Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. Okonkwo is the "superior" one of the Ibo tribe. He wants to be the one who grows the most yams. That shows that he can take care of his 3 wives and all his children. To show he is superior of his family he beats his wife whenever she does something out of line that he doesn't like. But at the same time he shows protection for his wife Ekwefi and his daughter Ezinma. He ends up shooting a dead mans son on accident and is banished for seven years!

2: Okonkwo had a father named Unoka. his dad dies and he doesn't care because his father is lazy and Okonkwo hatess lazy people. | Okonkwo breaks the weak of peace by beating his wife and almost shooting and killing her. | Okonkwo is banished for 7 years and so he goes to his mother tribe in Mbanta. There his discovers white men and Christianity. | Okonkwo's son Nwoye goes to their church and okonkwo gets mad and he gets arrested with some other warriors.

3: His daughter, Ezinma, is in danger when taken to a cave, his wife, Ekwefi, follows her and Okonkwo follows them to protect them. | Okonkwo attended Ezeudu's funeral, he was a warrior and died. But during the funeral Okonkwo killed his son. | When they are released, the whole clan is mad. So the call a meeting with the white men to compromise. | Just before the meeting was about to begin Okonkwo killed the messenger. Shortly after he committed suicide.

4: 2. "Okonkwo's second wife had merely cut a few leaves off it to wrap some food, and she said so. Without further argument Okonkwo gave her a second beating and left her and her only daughter weeping." | 5 Excerpts/Quotes | 1. "Okonkwo ruled his household with a heavy hand. His wives, especially the youngest , lived in perpetual fear of his fiery temper, and so did his little children. Perhaps down in his heart Okonkwo was not a cruel man. But his whole life was dominated by fear, the fear of failure and weakness."

5: 3. "A man stood there with a machete in his hand. Ekwefi uttered a scream and sprang to her feet. 'Don't be foolish,' said Okonkwo's voice. 'I thought you were going into the shrine with Chielo,' he mocked. Ekwefi did not answer. Tears of gratitude filled her eyes. She knew her daughter was safe." | 4. " Guns fired the last salute and the cannon rent the sky. And then from the center of the delicious fury came a cry of agony and shouts of horror. It was as if a spell had been cast. All was silent. In the center of the crowd a boy lay in a pool of blood. | 5. "They set fire to his houses, demolished his red walls, killed his animals and destroyed his barn. it was the justice of earth goddess, and they were merely her messengers. they had no hatred in their hearts against Okonkwo. His friend, Obierika, was among them. They were merely cleansing the land which Okonkwo had polluted with the blood of a clansman."

8: Themes Related to Okonkwo | The main theme i noticed with Okonkwo while reading this novel was that he was determined to defend his religion. Even if it meant dieing. He fought to the death to defend his beliefs.

9: Literary Terms | Okonkwo was a tragic hero. He was fighting for his beliefs and it ended in a tragedy.
