FC: Life as a TV By: Amy Harms
Once upon a time, there lived a TV. TV lived in a home called Casa Fabulosa.
One day, Sally was watching TV in their marvelous home. Sally loves Soap Operas so, naturally, she was watching the new soap opera called Virtual Reality.
Once Sally left there was much rejoicing. 'I hate those Soap Operas!' TV thought to itself. That's all Sally watches: People singing, crying, and dancing. Sounds pretty boring if you ask me!
"Yes! Jeff is coming!Time to say good bye to Reality and say hello to sports! Yes. What's the score? What's the score?Go Packers!" the TV shouted with joy as Jeff walked in. "Go Packers!" Said Jeff.
"Jeff," orders Sally, "it's time to get off; your turn is up. Mom says I can watch the Soap Opera. The TV groans with despair. Suddenly Jeff cries out" No! I'm watching the Packers. You can watch the soap opera later."
'Yes, Jeff. Good job. Keep fighting.' the TV silently encouraged. Sally glared at Jeff. If looks could kill... Jeff looking back desperately hopes a hero will save him. If this comes to a fight, he has no chance. Jeff maneuvers so that he is facing the dreaded Sally. He motions to the remote and started to hand Sally the tool to victory. "No, Jeff, don't give up hope!" the TV screams. Suddenly Jeff has the courage to face Sally. "No!" he yells, "I'm watching football- back off." "Give me the remote!" Sally roared. Sally lunged at Jeff and on the floor they tumbled and fought. Unfortunately, at that moment, the TV blanked out, and it was broken.
They tried to revive it, but to no avail. Sally raced up to the stairs with Jeff right behind her. "Jeff broke the TV!" roared Sally once she reached the steps. "Did not!" growled Jeff. "Did so!" screamed Sally. "Heaven help me..." whispered Mother.
While Sally and Jeff were screaming, yelling, and kicking (basically throwing a temper-tantrum) the chair and TV were holding a low conversation. "Real smooth," said the chair, "turning yourself off so you don't have to play the soap operas. Sort of like faking your own murder in a way. Then the TV smiled.
