FC: When I grow up I want to be a Nittany Lion!-The Brooks Conway Story

This book is dedicated to the greatest little boy ever to bless our lives. Love, Mom & Dad September 2009

My name is Brooks and I love the Penn State Nittany Lions.

I entered this world as a baby Nittany Lion on August 15, 2005 and lived at Penn State Children's Hospital for 4 months.

Mom and Dad love Penn State, too. It is a school for young adults to learn how to do things that will help them to work at the job they want.

Every year we drive to State College, also known as Happy Valley, to see the Nittany Lions play football.

We love to camp at Fort Bellefonte Campground. I do my best to help Mom and Dad set up the camper.

It is a tradition for us to attend Football Eve, a pep rally before the first game of the season.

After Football Eve, I need to get a good night's sleep to prepare for our day on campus.

We start our day visiting the Nittany Lion statue for a family portrait on the west side of campus.

Next, we walk to Old Main. In front, there are students playing Frisbee and studying. The bells chime for 11 o'clock. It is soon game time!

On our way to Beaver Stadium, we walk downtown so I can inspire the students with my "WE ARE.....PENN STATE!" chant.

"What is that building?" I ask. Dad says it is called the Bryce Jordan Center, where the Nittany Lions play basketball.

There are so many people dressed in Blue and White. Some have their faces painted. There are campers and trucks. People are playing games and eating. Mom says they are having a Tailgate Party.

The stadium is so big! Dad says it can hold over 107,282 people. It's soon time to go into the stadium. But first, we must do one more tradition.

I always get my picture with JoePa before entering the stadium.

After my picture, we pass the dedicated students, who camped out all night for the best seats. They call it Paternoville, founded in October 2005.

Now, we go to our seats and wait for the best part of the day...the football game!

The Blue Band is coming. They march in step and look so sharp. The crowd is cheering for them.

Our seats are great. Everyone is excited and cheering. Here comes the Drum Major. He jumps into the air, does a flip and lands in a split. WOW!

 Here come the Nittany Lions!

Throughout the game I join my 107,282 friends in cheering for the Nittany Lions.

The Nittany Lions Win! To celebrate we take a family photo.

And we go to Mom's favorite restaurant, Baby's, a real 1950's diner with jukeboxes at the table. | The waitresses dress in costume. Mom always orders whimpy burgers and a milkshake.

After eating we walk to the Creamery to get the most incredible ice cream. Mom gets a big dish of Peachy Paterno and I get a big cone of Death by Chocolate. Mm! Mm!

After a fun and an exhausting day, I usually fall asleep before returning to the camper. I dream of being a Nittany Lion when I grow up.

The End...at least until the next game.
