1: William Fargo became associated with his later business partner Henry Wells in 1851.

2: William Fargo was always a hard worker. He only had a little education but that is because he started working when he was only 13 years old.

3: What Fargo is most famous for is being the co-founder of both Wells Fargo and American Express with his business partner Henry Wells.

4: As well as being involved with money, William Fargo was the mayor of Buffalo,NY (his hometown) from 1862 to 1866.

5: Living a busy life, Fargo was President of Wells Fargo from 1870 to 1872.

6: Over lapping with his time as head of Wells Fargo, William Fargo was President of American Express from 1868 up to his death in 1881.

7: He was also publisher of the "Buffalo Courier" from 1876 to 1881.

8: 10 years before his death, Fargo, North Dakota was named after William Fargo.

9: Sadly, in 1881, this great man's life came to an end due to illness. He contributed greatly to the Old West.
