BC: 5 Questions 1. When was I Evacuated from London? 2.List two of my artifacts 3. What did young kid mistake as thunderstorms? 4. Where did kids go when they were evacuated? 5. Who did I write my letters to?

FC: My Evacuation Journey

1: My Name is Meagen Moser and was evacuated from London at age 6 1941

2: August 25, 1940 I am writing in my diary because I'm scared. I'm scared whats going to happen in the future. There have been crashes and flashes of light in the dark night, i thought they were thunderstorms. My warm loving mum tells me not to worry, but how do i know my sister, brother and me are going to be okay.?

3: 1933, The British government was worried that a new war might begin when Hitler came into power. 1939, Their were over 8 million Hitler youth, This was the beginning to the tragedy that led to me getting torn apart from my family.

4: May !940, Hitlers army started to march toward London. My family knew that some major changes were about to happen. July 10, 1940, Hitler would do what had worked before- begin with an air attack to weaken ground targets and rule supreme over the skies. - October 23, 1941 I was taken away from my family and put on a train I didn't know where I was going. None of us did.. | I was one of the lucky ones, some children and families were loaded into trucks by Nazi soldiers. Some disappeared and were never seen again.

5: October 24,1941 We got dropped off in smaller towns and villages in the country side. We lived with complete strangers, this was very hard to get used to. - By 1942 nearly 100,000 kids had been evacuated from their homes and I was one of them. January 20, 1942 Hitlers troops built camps to kill Jews or to work them to death. By 1944, all England became a military and supply base for Britain, American and Canadian troops 1950, I got to go home.

7: These articles talk about some of the important events that happened in the war. Some show why we had to be evacuated and some show and tell stories of children that were evacuated. These articles had a lot of good and helpful information in them. I liked to try and get my hands on the latest news paper when i was little, but it was hard at times.

8: Dear mum and pop, I miss you dearly and hope your alright. I like my knew house, the people are very friendly, and i met some new friends at school. I want to come home, so we can all be together again. Whens the war going to be over?. Love, Meagan

9: Dear Megan, We miss you so much . We think about you every day and hold you close to our hearts. We would do anything for you to be in our arms again. We don't know when the wars going to be over, but it will be soon and we will all be together again. Be the strong little girl we know you cant be. Love, Mum and Papa

10: These are some of my toys i used to play with. These kept me happy when i was on the train rides. I loved to read books to keep my mind off the war,and missing my family.

11: This is a cartoon drawing of kids like me leaving their home towns. I remember what i packed in my suitcase - Knickers -Petticoat -Stockings -Handkerchief -Blouse -Facecloth -Cardigan -Shoes.

12: This was my cherished doll that survived with me through the war. I got her when i was Born and i still have her. She is one of the few things i still have left from my childhood. She means so much to me and i have kept her in great condition.

13: These Are some of the friends i met. Jimmy was very nice and all ways made me smile. I became really close to Mary and we are still friends to this day. This was one good thing that happened in my life during this time.
