FC: A Miracle.... | Ava Grace Pickett | Our Baby Girl

They say you fall in love with your baby the day they were born. For us, it was the day we found out a little bundle of joy will be entering our life, and the first time we held you in our arms, we fell deeper in love!

The Labor........ Mommy woke up about 3am Saturday, November 13, 2010 thinking she had indigestion, Mommy found out a few hours later she was wrong!

Around 7:30am Mommy had taken a shower and still was not feeling so good, so she decided to lay on the bed and start timing. Sure enough the itsy bitty pain was every 5 minutes apart. Mommy then called the doctor and he gave me the okay to head to the hospital. Then Mommy called Grandma Clark and said it was showtime! We arrived and they brought us into an exam room first. We were in that room for about 2 or 3 hours. They made Mommy and Daddy walk the horseshoe halls to help labor. Mommy finally gave up within a few hours because she couldn't stand anymore! They finally admitted us around 2pm. | The nurse said Mommy as a pro at breathing through contractions without taking lamaze classes. Your Grandma Clark and Aunt Amber finally arrrived shortly after we were admitted. Now it was the waiting game. Doctor Houghton came in around 4pm and broke Mommy's water to get things to go faster. We were progressing pretty good, until about 9pm or so when you decided to get stuck at 7cms. Mommy had to have some oxygen to help you stay awake! Finally Mommy took a three hour nap around 4am Sunday, November 14th, Finally the nurse came in around 8am and we were finally at 10cm, now it was time to push. Boy was that hard to push!! You must have been on Mommy's nerve because she had shooting pain from her neck all the way down to her butt, it was very hard to push. Mommy worked very hard for 2 1/2 hours but you ended up getting stuck. Doctor came in and said Mommy could push another 30minutes or we can do a c-section. Mommy said c-section she was so ready to meet you! So Daddy suited up while Mommy was prepped for surgery. Was so hard to lay there flat because of Mommy's back but she bit her tongue and went to a happy place! Mommy got a little sick on the table. The doctors had to push you back up because you were too far down, once they did that within seconds Mommy could hear you cry, best sound in the world!

Finally it was Mommy's turn to hold you! Mommy was so sad she didn't get to hold you first, but Mommy was shaking too bad from the surgery she had to rest for a bit. When the nurses wheeled Mommy into her room and Daddy handing you to Mommy, you looked up at Mommy right away, and made Mommy's heart melt! From that moment the connection was so strong!

Proud Grandma Clark! She couldn't wait to snuggle you in her arms! She said she could hear you all the way from the waiting room when we were going to recovery | First visitors.. and the first to hold you after Daddy

You're the end of my rainbow, my pot of gold. You're mommy's little girl, to have and hold. A precious gem is what you are. You're mommy's bright and shining star. You're sugar, you're spice, You're everything nice, And you're mommy's little girl.

I loved you from the very start, You stole my breath, embraced my heart. Our life together has just begun, You're part of me my little one. As mother with child, each day I grew, My mind was filled with thoughts of you. I'd daydream of the things we'd share, Like late-night bottles and teddy bears. Like first steps and skinned knees, Like bedtime stories and ABC's. I thought of things you'd want to know, Like how birds fly and flowers grow. I thought of lessons I'd need to share, Like standing tall and playing fair. When I first saw your precious face, I prayed your life be touched with grace. I thanked the angels from above, And promised you unending love. Each night I lay you down to sleep, I gently kiss your head and cheek. I count your little fingers and toes; I memorize your eyes and nose. I linger at your nursery door, And each day I love you more. Through misty eyes, I dim the light, I whisper "I Love You" every night. I loved you from the very start, You stole my breath, embraced my heart. As mother and child our journey's begun, My heart's yours forever, my little one.

When you were born you filled my heart with pride, And I was overcome by the joy I felt inside. As I held you in my arms that very first day, I knew I would never let any harm come your way. With your tiny little hands and tiny little feet, Everytime I look at you my heart skips a beat. As I watch you sleep in the middle of the night, I hope and pray I will do everything right. I know I may make some mistakes along the way, But I promise to do my best not to every single day. I often wonder what you will grow up to be, But whatever you become will be fine with me. So whatever you may decide to do in your life, Maybe an astronaut, a lawyer, or even a doctor's wife. I can say this without any doubt at all, I will always be there to catch you if you fall. And another promise I make to you from me, Daddy's little angel you will always be.

A wee bit of heaven, Drifted down from above. A handful of happiness A heart full of love. The mystery of life, So sacred and sweet. The giver of joy, So deep and complete. Precious and priceless, So lovable to. The world's sweetest miracle, That would be you.
