S: Storybook BABY Shower
BC: This book is a work of love honoring Juliet, the mommy-to-be. Names, characters, places, and incidents are products of a loving family united to welcome Baby Mattson. ACKNOWLEDGMENTS This celebration would have been impossible without the Dream Team of bakers and decorators. Special thanks to the dear Mother Goose herself for the inspiration and for ushering our children into a world worth knowing: a gateway to the enjoyment of storybooks. | Storybook Baby Shower Collection and Illustrations by Christine Simpson 2010

16: Take time to start a daily journal beginning with the day you gave birth. This can help to jar your memory when you are filling in that darn baby book and it is fun to take a walk down memory lane a few years down the road. - Auntie Val | A little note from mom... to the mommy-to be. | On the day that you bring my second grandchild into this world, you will only then know how much I have loved you and your brother through these years. A change will come over you, it's like magic mother fairy dust and you then see the world through the eyes of that precious child and want to protect them from all harm, keep them safe, kiss away every boo-boo they encounter and be so proud of all they accomplish. From the first words they speak to their first time on stage or their first goal on the field., you will be their mom and in my world that is all that matters to me. That you and Scott are my children and have made me so proud of the people that you are and the families that you have created. I love you bunches and you too will find out soon what it is to be called Mommy. -Theresa Simpson | Always follow your heart and your mommy instincts. You have a special bond with your little one and you are the one who knows what is best for your child. Relax! Stop hovering over daddy. Variety is good for the baby and it's important for them to build a bond together. The quicker he learns...the quicker you can have adult girlfriend time. -Melissa Hatton
17: Always label pictures with names and dates. I have several that I can't tell if it's Eric or Chris. Play with your baby as much as possible. The house can wait. Cherish every moment of your little ones life. - Auntie Val | You can never spoil a newborn enough. Snuggle and cuddle that baby as much as you can Sing with your child like no one is listening. Give your toddler confidence boosters by offering many choices in everyday situations. Always remember, especially during trying times, it is easy to be a bad parent and difficult to be a good parent.. Enjoy your quiet and tidy household...it won't last .. Have fun sis...these years are precious. -Chrissy Simpson - | Remember that you and your husband will always need special time together to reconnect. Try to schedule date night once a month and never pass up an offer when someone wants to care for your child to allow the two of you alone time. Always remember who you are along the way. Things change and you can't always get away when you need it most, so make time for your friends and make a life of your own. A happy mommy makes a happy family! -Melissa Hatton

20: Dear Mommy & Daddy, I am so excited to meet you, but I'm not ready yet. I'm painting my eyes, hair and cheeks and soon I'll be all set. I can feel your heartbeat and hear your voices talking to me everyday. I need just a little more time and the stork and I will be on our way! -With Love, Baby Mattson
