If one feels the need of something grand, something infinite, something that makes one feel aware of God, one need not go far to find it. I think that I see something deeper, more infinite, more eternal than the ocean in the expression of the eyes of a little baby when it wakes in the morning and coos or laughs because it sees the sun shining on its cradle. - Vincent van Gogh
Once upon a very magical time there was a beautiful woman named Mommy and a handsome man named Daddy. They fell in love and had an adorable baby girl named Nora Bee.
But let us not get ahead of ourselves... this tale begins quite a few months ago in a land far far away.
Your journey, sweet Nora, begins in a very special place called Mommy's belly.
This is what you looked like in Mommy's belly. You were growing bigger each and every day, Mommy and Daddy could hardly wait to see your face.
And then, on March 14, 2009 at 7:44 pm you were born into the world. You were the most beautiful thing Mommy and Daddy had ever laid their eyes upon.
You, pretty girl, changed their lives forever.
Sometimes just being newborn baby Nora Bee made you SO sleepy, so you would take lots of naps.
Mommy and Daddy would wrap you up in warm blankets and hugs and kisses all over, and you, baby Nora, would have the sweetest dreams.
You know just how to make Mommy and Daddy laugh....
...with all of your silly faces.
Daddy loves to hold you and tell you you're his beautiful little girl ...
...and Mommy loves to hold you and tell you you're the most precious baby in the world.
And as you grow, your little feet begin to take steps into new adventures like the beach, milk slushies, and the colorful leaves of fall...
... going on hikes, playing in snow, and crawling into a new state and home.
Life is so exciting with you, Nora Bee. You never cease to amaze Mommy and Daddy with how much you learn and change. You are so smart and beautiful, baby girl.
And as the days go by and turn into months, and then ever so surely into years life will seem like it is changing around you... and it is. So, little one, you should explore, laugh, cry, play, make mistakes and learn from them, take time to find happiness in the little things...
...and never forget, Nora Bee, that you are forever loved.
Written for Nora Bee Smeltzer on her very first Christmas. All our love, Uncle Jonathan & Aunt Ashley
