S: Spencer's Baby Book
FC: Spencer Dean
1: Once upon a time, there was a beautiful baby who was welcomed into the world by two loving parents and their family and friends...
2: Your Story.... Daddy and I both wanted a big family and we knew that Heavenly Father had a plan for our family. So after trying to have a baby for many, many years we endured several fertility cycles with no luck before Matthew joined our family. When Matthew was a few months old, Mommy got a phone call from Dr. Buyalos and he told us that we had been approved for an IVF fertility trial. And we knew we wanted to have more kids, so we went for it. The first time we tried it didn't work, but the second time, in December of 2007, we got the call we had been waiting for. We were pregnant...Woohoo!! We couldn't believe our ears! Your due date was September 7, 2008. Being pregnant with you was pretty easy, I was pretty tired the first trimester and you gave me some pretty good heartburn , and a swelled up like a balloon...but all in in all it was an easy pregnancy. We talked to you, read to you, and sang to you. We told Grandma, Papa Joe, Papa Vince, Aunt B, Aunt Michele, Uncle Brian by having Matthew come downstairs in a onesie that read on the front - "I am gonna be..." and the on the back it read - "a BIG brother" Everyone was soo excited!!
3: Choosing your Name..... Daddy and I always seem to struggle when it comes to choosing baby names. Names I liked included: Jake and Jacob...Daddy liked George and Michael. I had heard someone say Spencer when I was a doctor's appointment and I really liked the name. I came home and told Daddy and he liked it too. We also realized a prophet had the same name - Spencer W. Kimball. We liked that too. We gave you the middle name of Dean after Grandma's Daddy - whose name was Dean Chalendar Boyack. We found out at about 20 weeks that you were BOY..I already knew you were a boy....I could just feel it! We were excited to have our two sons so close together - praying that the two of you would be good buddies. You were given two fun showers in preparation of your arrival. We felt so loved and blessed to be expanding our family.
4: Your Birth Story..... I had a check up on August 18th and found out that I was dialated at around 2 cm. Dr. S wanted me go to the hospital right then but gratefully they didn't have room. We were so excited to meet you but we had a few more things to do around the house before you arrived! So we were scheduled to check into the hospital the next morning at 6 am. Wow, we were about to become a family of four! They gave me pitocin and I really didn't feel any contractions at all but still opted to get an epidural when I was about 4.5 cm dialated. I spent the day and night trying to progress to a normal delivery. But, unfortunately, my body never produced contractions that were consistent. So at around 2 am and at 8.5 cm dialated, our doctor made the call to deliver you via c-section. The anticipation was building and we were getting so excited. You arrived at 3:17 am and while I couldn't see you right away, I cried when I heard you cry for the first time. And when I did finally get to see you - you were breathtaking and beautiful!!! It was truly a miraculous moment.
5: Daddy and Grandma were in the OR when you were born too. You some trouble breathing, so you spent a few hours in the NICU. But by the time the anesthesia wore off, you were with me and getting settled. It was wonderful to spend those first five days in the hospital with you. You had many visitors at the hospital...Grandma, Papa Joe, Papa Vince, Uncle Brian, Aunt Michele, Aunt B, and some of Mommy's friends from work came too. Matthew was only able to visit once because he came down with bronchitis and we didn't want to get you sick. When you came home, we had a scavenger hunt for Matthew and at the end of it you were his BIG surprise! He got other small presents along the way and he gave you a present too. it was a sweet way to re-introduce you two to each other .

Your Daddy and I want you to know=how much you are loved and treasured, always. Your birth was a miracle - a miracle because we didn't think we could conceive a child. You ARE a child of God and we are honored to be your earthly parents. We pray you develop a close relationship with your siblings, that you show others kindness and service and that you strive to choose the right. You are going to be pulled in many directions as you grow up and we know that if you stay close to the Spirit and to your family that you will be led and guided in your life. We pray you serve a mission, graduate from college and get married in the temple to the one that you can give your love freely and completely. When it comes time to pick a profession - study something you are passionate about cause you will be working at it a long time. We know you have an important mission you were sent here to fulfill and we pray that you listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost and that you read the scriptures often so that your mission
33: and purpose will be made more clear to you as you grow up. We hope you choose your friends wisely so that they are a positive influence in your life. Keep a journal, with your stories, reflections and learnings in it. It will be helpful to you as you go along in life. When trials and frustrations come, hold onto the rod and lean on your family and those that will help you make good decisions. We love you so much and pray for the guidance each day to raise you and your siblings in a way that is pleasing to Heavenly Father. You are a ray of sunshine in our lives and you bring pure joy into our hearts and home. We will love you forever, no matter what. And as Papa Joe always told Mommy growing up "Remember who you are." Not only that you are Spencer Dean Lynn but that you are child of loving and wise Heavenly Father who wants you to return to Him with honor. We love you, sweet boy. Love you always, Mommy & Daddy
