7: AND WE MADE IT!!!!! | In spite of the preterm labor, the babies stayed where they were supposed to until 37 weeks-- which is considered full term for twins. Dr. Graves scheduled a c-section for Wednesday, February 16th, 2011. The babies, however, had other ideas, and I awoke on Monday, February 14th, Valentine's Day, to a flood of water breaking. We raced to Baptist Hospital, excited to finally meet our little guy and gal for the first time.
8: Hank Sullivan Proctor was born at 9:40 am. He weighed 5 lbs 2 oz and was 17 inches long.
9: Lorelai Golden Proctor was born at 9:41 am. She weighed 5 lbs 3 oz and was also 17 inches long.
10: Since we had twins, there were two teams of nurses and doctors in the delivery room. During the c-section, we suddenly heard Dr. Kang and the nurses exclaim, "Well, hello!!" and then we heard Hank's cry as they lifted him over the curtain so we could see his beautiful, mad, screaming face and flailing arms for the first time. One minute later we saw Lorelai's equally beautiful face. Even though I was feeling extremely nauseous and shaking uncontrollably, it was without a doubt, the most amazing two minutes of our lives.
