We left the card at the restaurant Enotria with a bottle of champagne. (Uncle Darren didn't get it) Grandma & Grandpa Richard: We told Grandma that we had come up with a new nickname for her - "GRANDMA" and asked if she liked it....she did! THE WORD SPREAD

6: On September 15, 2010, we went to an ultra-sound appointment at American Radiology in White Marsh, Maryland. You were 10 days late. At the appointment, the technician told us that the fluid around you was a little low. We left the appointment and went to the mall to walk around to try to get you to come. We went and looked at puppies, then went to a sporting goods store to find a present. While we were in the store, the doctor's office called and asked us to report to Labor & Delivery immediately. Mommy wanted to go home first to shower and change. We were so excited to meet you. Then Mommy had to have a cheeseburger because she knew they wouldn't let her eat in the hospital until you were born. When we got to GBMC, we checked in at 12:30 p.m. and Mommy was induced. But, you didn't want to come. We waited and waited. Finally, at 2:00 am. on September 16, 2010 we decided to have a C-section.

30: JANUARY, 2011 One of the hardest things that I have ever done was to go back to work and leave you in the care of other people. I went back to work on January 3, 2011, when you were almost 4 months old. I cried every day for a week...maybe more. You didn't mind a bit. You loved all of the activity around you. We tried an in-home daycare, then our neighbor watched you, but in the end, we hired a nanny, Sandra Minge, who had a daughter, Carmen, who was 4 weeks old when she started. You loved Sandra and Carmen right away. January was also filled with firsts: You rolled over from back to front on January 13, 2011 for the first time. You tried your first food, rice cereal, on January 17, 2011.
32: You are such a happy baby. You rarely cry. You love taking baths and relaxing in your bouncy seat. You love the dog and laugh and smile at him. You love to eat squash and cereal. You have an exersaucer that you jump and jump in. You love to laugh.

42: April 13, 2011 My baby is almost 7 months today. He is crawling all over the place and pulling himself up on the coffee table, his crib, the back of my legs. We can hardly get him to stay still while we change his diaper...he flips over and tries to wiggle away. He loves the dog...follows him with his eyes wherever he goes. Jackson is eating now. He'll try anything you put in front of him and loves pears, peaches, butternut squash, tofu and lentil soup, among others. We did have to back off solids a little because he has difficulty when he eats too much. He is still nursing 8-10 times a day and is up 2-3 times in the night. He smiles a lot and cries very little. My favorite outfit - blue stripe hooded sweatshirt with a bear on the front and his cotton starry pajamas. He loves bath time with daddy and screaming... oohhhhaaaahhh I love my little bug.
44: ON THE MOVE
46: Bath Time

51: Teeth started to appear on Sunday, June 26, 2011. You got two at a time on the bottom. You are also starting to stand on your own and try to take steps. It won't be long before you are walking! We love you so much. You love to laugh at Daddy when he pretends to bite you...bad Daddy. He shouldn't teach you to bite! You give kisses by throwing your head at people with your mouth open...very cute. You laugh and smile all the time. One of your favorite things is the sit in walker that you RUN around in outside. You also love water and swimming and polo and the neighborhood kids (George, Preston and Carson). | 9 Months... A Letter
52: June 30, 2011 You took your first 3 wobbly steps into my arms today. Love, Mommy

You prefer to lay sideways with your head on daddy and your feet on mommy. You eat all the time! 3 meals, 3 snacks, everyday. You love music and dancing. You had your hair cut for the first time on August 6, 2011 at 10:15am. You smiled through the whole experience. | 11 MONTHS
60: 1st Haircut
66: August 23, 2011 Today there was a 5.8 earthquake in Maryland. You were at the playground with Sandra and Carmen and didn't even feel it.
67: August 28, 2011 On August 27-28th, hurricane Irene threatened to hit Baltimore. We stored all the deck furniture, bought bottled water and extra food, and had friends over for a hurricane party. You watched Cars with the movie projector in the front room of the house with Carson, Preston, Liam, George and Annabelle. When I held baby Annabelle, who is three months old, you went crazy. You cried and screamed for me until I handed her off to her daddy. You did not like to share your mommy with another baby. We all laughed at how you weren't ready for a sibling. The night of the 27th, we went to sleep to rain and wind and woke up to a beautiful day. The wind was bad, but hurricane Irene didn't do much damage to anything near us. The power was out on Sunday, the 28th, but went back on right before bed. You are a sweet and loving child who always likes to have friends nearby, loves to run and play and climb. We love to watch you sleeping and cuddle with you.
